I am trying to figure out if this is a ring issue or scope base issue...

I ordered a SN3 from CS Tactical, it has a 58mm objective and 35mm tube. I am using USO XL rings to get by until my Seekins rings show up. When I apply the proper amount of torque to the rings they tilt backwards. I can push them back down with a little bit of force but that worries me, is it something to be concerned about? Should I send the rings back to USO for replacement?

I will mention that this is a Lawton built rifle with their 30 MOA base. Just by looking at the base the spaces in the rails looks longer then normal.

What should I do?! Thanks for the help

Re: US Optics 35mm rings

Are the clamping pieces sliding freely on their little posts? I always just tighten one side and mount using the other side to clamp (bypassing teh windage adjustment).
To trouble shoot if its the ring, remove it and turn it 180* and retighten, seeing if it tips the opposite way, if so I's send them to USO. The slot width (IMO) shouldn't cause a problem especially like you are describing.

I run (gasp!!) VTacs on my 35mm SN3 to get as low as I wanted, and they are working just fine. THe USO 3500-M's I had sat fine on my rail.
