Has anyone tried USA ammo's 155 A-max? I bought it because its relatively cheap $14 for a box of 25 to use for plinking.
I immediately noticed that it seems a bit tight to chamber. I'd say about 50% of chambers just fine in a remington 700 .308 while the other half is hard to get in. All most all of it creates problems trying to extract after firing. A Savage 10FP experienced the same issues.
It seems to chamber fine in an M1A, but thats because I let the op rod fly forward, forcably chambering it. It get jammed upon extraction, which is the first time that rifle has had a FTE.
I also got one round that was missing a primer, but I guess thats another issue.
I'm wondering if I'm doing any damage to these rifles by trying the ammo. I'm thinking its just a tight casing as opposed to overpressure since I'm having issues both chambering and extracting. Has anyone else had these issues?
I should note the ammo shot accurately and I did not have these problems with their 168 A-max.
