Guys could use a little help on this one. Friend of mine just bought a nice LMT AR in .223 and wants to use it for his varmint rifle out to 3 to 400 yards, but would also like to have a RMR mounted on the main scope as well so it doubles for room clearing and up close work. Can you guys post pics of your rigs so I can get some ideas to help him out. I think he wants to stay under 2k for the whole setup. I was thinking a 3-18 FFP scope, mil, mil for the main optic and an RMR of some kind for up close work. Need to know scope suggestions and mounting options for both optics. Thanks

Here's my RMR mounted on a Weaver 1 o'clock mount. No change in cheek weld, just roll rifle slightly to the side and the dot is right there. It does hang out there a little and can snag on gear if you're not paying attention. Mounting straight above scope works too, but gets pretty high above bore and needs a chin weld. Pros and cons...
Vortex Viper 2-7x32 bdc (discontinued). It is an impressive little scope, especially on the close out pricing they were on 2 or 3 years ago. I wish they still made it, it's a great AR form factor, IMO. Got 110 moa of adjustment on mine...
