It's spawning from something that Adblock Plus is blocking.
I see nothing in Firefox, but when I hit the site in IE, it goes nuts and tries to load a PDF file.
I got a Java script screen and next thing I know, something called Security Tools is on my system and running a scan (a program I've never installed on my system).
Hi Frank:
Symantec stopped whatever the download was. This is the message from my AV:
Symantec Endpoint Protection
Traffic from IP address 213.5.64.185 is blocked from 10/16/2010…
[Sid:23528] http Fragus Toolkit Download Activity detected.
IP number is hosted by altushost.com
Fragus Toolkit per Symantec:
Severity: High
This attack could pose a serious security threat. You should take immediate action to stop any damage or prevent further damage from happening.
Description
This signature detects attempts to download exploits from a Fragus toolkit that may compromise a computer through various vendor vulnerabilities.
Excellent job Frank I got the warning as well as long as you have a active scanning virus protection no harm should have occurred but its good to know its gone.
I use it for all my surfing and make the entire family use it as well. Sandboxie runs your programs in an isolated space which prevents them from making permanent changes to other programs and data in your computer.

The first thing you should do is dump Nortons.
Download Malwarebytes and run a full scan with that.
Then install Microsoft Security Essentials and run a full scan with that.

Had the same problem this morning. Thought it was just me.
I got a warning this morning and closed out then Google Chrome quit working and hasn't worked since. I ran a virus scan and nothing was detected but Google Chrome still won't work.
not sure if it was from here or where - but a false anti-virus popped up and shut me down completely this morning. I had to create a new profile in the image on my box. The new profile doesn't have the progam that self-installed on me. Major headache but the work around seems to be ok.
So I guess it wasnt a false alarm then this morning. My malware bytes was going bonkers on here. of course, now, everything is fine. As far as I know, no damage on my end, but whatever it was, it was trying hard to get into my laptop. Thanks to malwarebytes, didnt get in.

This is good advice here. Avast is also a decent option but MSE is the cat's meow if you're running Windows. 86 anything and everything you have by Norton or McAfee because they're resource pigs and I wouldn't run them for free let alone pay for them. MSE will do everything that those two offerings can do and then some with a much smaller footprint and... oh yeah... for free.
I had it, just got it gone and back up and running, with the help of my nephew's roommate. I couldn't have done it by myself. I never thought I would get a virus looking at guns, porn yes, but guns, I never would have guessed it.
I am still trying to deal with this thing. I ran a complete AVG and Adaware scan and they came up with nothing. Antivirus 2010 is trying to introduce itself into my life by running a full scan on it's own and telling me that I have 120 questionable items to be dealt with. I have to register in order to "fix" the problem. I have a screen on my desktop which I can't get rid of that says, "YOUR SYSTEM IS INFECTED. System has been stopped due to a serious malfunction. Spyware activity has been detected. It is recommended to use spyware removal tool to prevent data loss. Do not run any application before all spyware removed."
I don't really know what to do at this point because my system is obviously effed up and I don't have the skills to fix it.
Dave try to install Malwarebytes and run a scan it may be necessary to start in safemode to download Malwarebytes and scan depending on the exact virus. For others MSE is really the cats meow because it is free it works and its unobtrusive. MSE was able to detect the problem fine this morning and stop the attack. If anybody is still having problems pm me I can try and help you out.
I think it's great that there are pricks out there that get there jollies out of screwing up other people lives. I hope they get stomach cancer and are allergic to morphine.

I got the same thing this morning from this site. I have been trying to beat all day. I went into safe mode and did a system restore to last week then ran Malwarebytes to remove the basterd. I am so freaking pissed at the people who make this shit and give it to all of us.

Restart computer, when it begins to load press F8.
This morning I just got a pop up that asked if I wanted to run something called 'lebistes'. The popup was a run or cancel situation and would not let me copy and paste it here. I canceled and nothing has happened so far.
I'm running a mac and get the same malware waring and the lebistes.com site recommendation as reeldoc. Except I get the message every time I change change pages here.
I've restarted the computer and still get the same page popping up each time I change pages.
