Everytime I log into SH Avira says AntiVir Guard has detected 11 viruses or unwanted programs.

    Access was denied.

    Anyone else getting this warning?

    Re: Virus warning on SH

Norton told me it was an usafe site this morning, and I had to click throught he warning to ge in, but it hasn't noiticed any viruses.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

I am running a full scan now.
This is the only site the warning comes up on.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

I had some funky stuff as well. A media file tried to open, which I stopped. One of my virus programs automatically launched.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

It's spawning from something that Adblock Plus is blocking.
I see nothing in Firefox, but when I hit the site in IE, it goes nuts and tries to load a PDF file.

    Bad banner ad or script?

    Re: Virus warning on SH

It's clean in Chrome with Adblock as well.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

I got a Java script screen and next thing I know, something called Security Tools is on my system and running a scan (a program I've never installed on my system).

    Re: Virus warning on SH

My Anti Virus says I'm good to go. My computer would somehow suffer from a serious irrevisible error if it denied me access to the Hide.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

I had a few files try and download, but I put a stop to them...

    Re: Virus warning on SH

    Hi Frank:
Symantec stopped whatever the download was. This is the message from my AV:

    Symantec Endpoint Protection
Traffic from IP address 213.5.64.185 is blocked from 10/16/2010…
[Sid:23528] http Fragus Toolkit Download Activity detected.

IP number is hosted by altushost.com

    Fragus Toolkit per Symantec:
    Severity: High
This attack could pose a serious security threat. You should take immediate action to stop any damage or prevent further damage from happening.
    Description
This signature detects attempts to download exploits from a Fragus toolkit that may compromise a computer through various vendor vulnerabilities.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

Excellent job Frank I got the warning as well as long as you have a active scanning virus protection no harm should have occurred but its good to know its gone.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

Thank you sir. I rebooted my computer, and the warning message is gone.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

Okay, if you get it again, send me a PM or use the Moderator Alert...

I am patching everything now, so I think I have it covered. But will check the system again.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

I picked up some malware this morning, and it was a bitch to remove. This was about the only site I have been on.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

It was here, I found the cause, removed it and patched the system. I think I got 100% but incase, let me know.

Overnight some asshole dropped in some code through an exploit, but I plugged the exploit and removed the code he dropped in.

Sorry about that, assholes will always be I suppose but the code is gone and the system has been patched.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

This is the best app in the world to use when surfing the net.

    www.sandboxie.com

I use it for all my surfing and make the entire family use it as well. Sandboxie runs your programs in an isolated space which prevents them from making permanent changes to other programs and data in your computer.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

Glad I use Firefox w/No-script, Adblock Plus & Flashblock. It was business as usual for me.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

Was using Firefox and got it ...Had to go to the computer store to get rid of it $$$$$$$$$

    ie dont surf at work

    Re: Virus warning on SH

Kapersky told me it detected a Trojan virus when I opened the
Forum this morning. Glad y'all found it and fixed it.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

I got the Antimalware Doctor trojan virus on one of my computers here this morning using Google Chrome. It sucked to remove.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

So is there anyway to check if I got anyhting by igonoring Norton telling my to not view the site this morning? My machine runs fine seemingly....

The first thing you should do is dump Nortons.
Download Malwarebytes and run a full scan with that.
Then install Microsoft Security Essentials and run a full scan with that.

Had the same problem this morning. Thought it was just me.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

I got a warning this morning and closed out then Google Chrome quit working and hasn't worked since. I ran a virus scan and nothing was detected but Google Chrome still won't work.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

not sure if it was from here or where - but a false anti-virus popped up and shut me down completely this morning. I had to create a new profile in the image on my box. The new profile doesn't have the progam that self-installed on me. Major headache but the work around seems to be ok.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

So I guess it wasnt a false alarm then this morning. My malware bytes was going bonkers on here. of course, now, everything is fine. As far as I know, no damage on my end, but whatever it was, it was trying hard to get into my laptop. Thanks to malwarebytes, didnt get in.

This is good advice here. Avast is also a decent option but MSE is the cat's meow if you're running Windows. 86 anything and everything you have by Norton or McAfee because they're resource pigs and I wouldn't run them for free let alone pay for them. MSE will do everything that those two offerings can do and then some with a much smaller footprint and... oh yeah... for free.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

I had it, just got it gone and back up and running, with the help of my nephew's roommate. I couldn't have done it by myself. I never thought I would get a virus looking at guns, porn yes, but guns, I never would have guessed it.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

I am still trying to deal with this thing. I ran a complete AVG and Adaware scan and they came up with nothing. Antivirus 2010 is trying to introduce itself into my life by running a full scan on it's own and telling me that I have 120 questionable items to be dealt with. I have to register in order to "fix" the problem. I have a screen on my desktop which I can't get rid of that says, "YOUR SYSTEM IS INFECTED. System has been stopped due to a serious malfunction. Spyware activity has been detected. It is recommended to use spyware removal tool to prevent data loss. Do not run any application before all spyware removed."

I don't really know what to do at this point because my system is obviously effed up and I don't have the skills to fix it.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

Dave try to install Malwarebytes and run a scan it may be necessary to start in safemode to download Malwarebytes and scan depending on the exact virus. For others MSE is really the cats meow because it is free it works and its unobtrusive. MSE was able to detect the problem fine this morning and stop the attack. If anybody is still having problems pm me I can try and help you out.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

I think it's great that there are pricks out there that get there jollies out of screwing up other people lives. I hope they get stomach cancer and are allergic to morphine.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

I've installed Malwarebytes and MSE. My system won't let me run either one. How do I start in Safe mode?

I got the same thing this morning from this site. I have been trying to beat all day. I went into safe mode and did a system restore to last week then ran Malwarebytes to remove the basterd. I am so freaking pissed at the people who make this shit and give it to all of us.

Restart computer, when it begins to load press F8.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

This morning I just got a pop up that asked if I wanted to run something called 'lebistes'. The popup was a run or cancel situation and would not let me copy and paste it here. I canceled and nothing has happened so far.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

I'm running a mac and get the same malware waring and the lebistes.com site recommendation as reeldoc. Except I get the message every time I change change pages here.

I've restarted the computer and still get the same page popping up each time I change pages.

    Just a heads up.

    Re: Virus warning on SH

My anti-virus gave me a big red warning staing that a Trojan was detected from the Hide.
