No doubt. I guess I need to practice more. But my eye winds up focusing automagically on the reticle and not the target. I've only been shooting long range a few months.Never had any issues there either and it’s easier out there with the time of flight. Have shot them out to a mile with my Gen II and the tree 7C. If the dot or hash blocks the puff of dirt then you know where it is right? The dots or hash marks aren’t that big.

I am researching other brand scopes with non-tree reticles. I just find them easier to use.
The problem is you get the vocal minority yelling it’s needed and then they don’t sell. They used to offer one in the Gen II and discontinued them because they didn’t sell.
I get what you’re saying…
But IDK, times change and things evolve. The same tree reticles that have been popular for the last decade plus were more rare once upon a time… and with more and more PRS-style shooters moving towards simpler reticles lately and with them having become more popular, who knows?
I hope they do it.
Yeah who knows. The decade before that there were no tree reticle but I would have liked one as the game back then was different as well. Maybe if it keeps going to 25+ pound rifles and you don’t need a tree for shots then they may but I don’t think I will go away from a tree. Just gives me more versatility and doesn’t block anything for me. Grabbed this pic of it from Coldboremiracle’s post at AR15.com about his write up on the Gen III and I don’t see it blocking anything for me.

I don’t hate trees. And I don’t really feel like they block anything for me.
For me, like someone else already mentioned, it’s more about a busy reticle and all its little hashes making it distracting and hard for me not to focus on for my eyes/brain.
This is truly one of those personal preference type of things, I don’t think there’s one right way for everyone when it comes to reticles.
