Vudoo closed the doors…

So, above with the hair, that’s David Allen Coe. He has this stanza in a song:

Well, I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison
And I went to pick her up in the rain
But before I could get to the station in my pickup truck
She got run over by a damned old train

And then, well, here we have true pathos…

Dude!! Do you have a tractor? :ROFLMAO:

Does a riding mower count? Here's Leo, part Frenchie, part alligator. Loves sleeping in the sunlight...

Dogs are the best people I know.

I guess for riding mowers, we'll have to base it on horsepower rating, since they lack a PTO. I mean, we have to be serious about this topic, right?? :ROFLMAO:

How about snakes? This guy has been living in our horse barn for about five years now. It was quite small when we first saw it, but it has lived off mice for quite a while.

Little bastards are lucky like them around some days. He ate a ceramic egg, and then probably regurgitated it in the woods. Little fucker could have at least brought it back if he didn’t want it

I catch them and relocate them, we have too many field mice around.

Standard black rat snake...? Mike, if you live where I think you live, that's pretty far north for them...

Story time, circa early oughts. Neighbor hates snakes. Any snake. But rat snakes eat moles/voles/yard vermin. So when the kids reported a snake on (not-home) Mr. Dave's deck, I went to rescue it.

Rat snake about two feet long lolling on the deck table. I go to grab it. Wife has tagged along and expresses doubt. I grab snake behind its head... gently. Snake lurches forward enough to turn and latch onto my wrist and doesn't let go. Wife turns white and heads for home.

I walked back to the opposite corner of my yard with the snake still firmly attached. Set it down in the grass; it immediately turns loose and snake-ambles away.

I thought about just laying down in the grass and wait for my wife to notice... but discretion reminded me that, once she learned I was really ok, I might not be very shortly thereafter. So I just went inside and put antibiotic ointment on the perfect snake-jaw-outline of little bloody spots.

Picking up a thread that’s been dead….

Out of curiosity, I checked the Vudoo Website. And I checked with two different Vudoo facebook pages.

It might be an anomaly but the phone number listed in every page and website I could find still has a 435 prefix. That would be Utah.

Seems since the latest announcement which is about a month ago, it appears that nothing else is happening.

Not a very positive sign.

They are dead and buried!

Anyone else sorta miss this type of phone? Tough as nails.

Tell us you're barely old enough to drink milk without telling us...young buck. :)

You haven't lived, if you didn't have one of these in the kitchen connected to a 'party line' with at least 30' of cord... lol

That one my sister used to stretch to go into the bathroom to tie up the phone for an hour! Played Limbo with the stretched cord while traversing in and out of the kitchen.

I remember those types being in my grandparent’s homes, but the party line thing had moved on by then. Always hated the rotary dial!

THIS IS NOW A TRACTOR TELEPHONY THREAD

We had an old rotary dial we used to call the power company when the power went out.

The phone may also be a cell phone. Can't really place location by area code anymore.
Very true, out son still uses his phone number originally from our home in his home state

A cell phone for a mom and pop outfitt I get, but for a "shop" like Vudoo like would be wild.
With so much controversy going on with Vudoo, I would expect them to want to have the old number but a new mailing address as well as a new number. It is a new owner and I am not sure if transfer of a cell phone number to another account is possible.

The people who lived at our facility in the 1980’s had a contract with AT&T to disassemble these phones as well as the rotary phones. They used some of the components and I suppose melted down the rest. It earned the fellows and ladies some cash, at least what the Federal Government did not take away from them.

I had a fellow who worked for the Ford Dealership. Worked hard and made great money. Because he lived with us, he had to give close to 80% back to the government. Neither he, nor I were happy campers. Why work, when a fellow have to give it all back to the government. (Medicaid rules).

My fathers aunt was a switchboard lady in Brooklyn in the 40’s.

She would listen to everybody’s conversation then gossip about it lol

That’s back when you would pick up the phone and say “FL4” then the last 4 digits. FL was prefix for floral park (another town near Brooklyn). Then they’d plug you in etc

And wouldn’t you know it, just today, a Vudoo post appears on facebook. Asking which of two pistols the people preferred. The general answer was, START FILLING THE BACKORDERS.

Of course, there was no confirmation that back order issues or paid deposits were going to be taken care of.

My understanding is that Fierce Products is now making the pistols and this comes from a VERY good source! So WTH is really going on with VUDOO?

I have a Vudoo and like it. But, the owner/CEO/ mgr is doing NOTHING right with the company. I, and many others will never trust them again! Too bad, however I look forward to what's coming from DeLane (Mr. Bush) and others.
