So I seen Manners is offering a group buy on their Elite stocks and I wanted to get in on that.

So I'm needing a barrel. I don't even know what caliber yet but just wondering if anyone had any ideas on potential barrels. I have several Kriegers but thought about trying something different this time just for the sake of different. Kriegers have been great for me. Besides barrels can be changed out any time.

I was thinking Brux or Bartlein. Is there any reason to consider one over the other?

I have tried barrels from all the popular barrel makers but have stuck with Rock and Broughton over the last few years. I recently started using Benchmark barrels and they are very impressive as well. Bottom line, just about every top brand barrel is capable of top shelf accuracy, its more about how the barrel is chambered and who does the plumbing.

when you're talking about the top 5 barrel makers...they're all capable of the same accuracy. It's all personal preference at that point.

For me, it was all about availability for the above mentioned makers...I went Bartlein.

FYI, Grizzly has Bartlein barrels in stock...no wait. I ordered my M40 contour 5r 308 on last Friday, it was delivered to C. Dixon on Tuesday...he's working on it now.

McGowen makes a pretty damn good barrel.

A solid sub 1/2 moa shooter @ 100 ~ Would look into them as well.

They were 12-16 weeks in October so, I can only imagine what the wait is, now but, definitely worth it.

Thanks guys for the replies. Thinking about having Beanland build me another or try Gradous. I was just looking at the Brux and Bartlein and it doesn't sound like I could go wrong either way. Time is not really an issue as this would be towards the latter part of the year before I would even think about another build. So waiting on a barrel is not really a problem at this time. I have a couple projects in the works now.

Thanks again

Bugholes here on the hide usually keeps a good stock of bartlein, brux, obermyer, kreiger and rock barrels. His prices are good and when myself and a friend both placed an order he was great to deal with.

He keeps an updated inventory on bugholes.com
