Hi there!
When I'm not setting up troll posts elsewhere, I really am getting into ELR/ULR stuff.
I've settled on the Gen 3 Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor as my first outing, as it appears to be a solid first outing for shooting up to 1000 yards. (Someone correct me if I'm not thinking correctly)
The reason I'm posting in here is that I eventually want to get into REALLY long distances (1+ mile), so I want all my support equipment to make the transition as well.
As such, I want to avoid re-purchasing as much as possible.
When it comes to a scope, I've been doing SOME reading, and people really seem to like the Leupold 5HD (MOA version).
I was thinking of purchasing this, putting it the Ruger now, then, when I sell it and get either the .375/Cheytac or .416/HTI, I can just transfer the scope over, easy peasy.
Can anyone provide guidance as to why this scope might not be optimal for either the Ruger or the longer distance rifle?
Due to space limitations, I cannot have two rifles, so keeping the Creedmoor is not an option once I move up.
