So after years of gun owners stating that an AR-15 is not an assault rifle they actually went and changed the definition of the word to match their bullshit so that they could be right.

Changing the definition in one dictionary doesn't change anything legally, nor does it give the left any additional ammunition. All it does is prevent our side from using the bullshit argument that an AR-15 isn't equivalent to an M16 just because it's missing an extra hole in the lower.

ummmm.....an ar15 isnt equivalent to an M16 for just that reason.......its not "bullshit"
the whole need for the argument is though.....because an M16 is no "deadlier" than any other rifle in existence.......and how restricting machine guns is not an infringment on the 2A i really dont know.

The point, Alex, is that anything plastered with "Webster" in this country is seen, in a lexicographical sense, as a tome of absolute reference, much like The New York Times is seen as a periodical of reference. What they print, what they aver in black and white, is considered unassailable fact, true or not.

Trying to make the argument that an AR-15 isn't a combat weapon is disingenuous. I would have rather deployed with my personal rifle than the one I was issued.
In any event, we're debating over semantics. The left has been calling them assault rifles for over 20 years. This changes nothing.

My 1911 is a weapon of war, that deer rifle you have, its a sniper rifle. That suppressed .22, or lever action rifle, have all been used in combat at one point or another. All weapons of war. An AR-15 is identical to an M4/M16 in every way but the extra hole in the lower. The M4 is what the overwhelming majority of our shooters carry into combat.
The 2A was designed to ensure the people were armed to the same level as the government. ARs are as close as most of us can afford to get to that.
Horseshit. What we're "allowed" to get to, not "afford," mind you, is whatever three-quarters worn out pre-'86 relic we can find. And that comes with a ton of paperwork and waiting that pretty much defines the concept of infringement.
