Optics Planet says they begin taking delivery of these before the end of next month. Thus, I've got my hopes up to have one before deer season.

I am trying to decide between the 44mm and the 50mm. I often hunt in heavily wooded, low-light conditions, therefore, the 50mm is preferable in this regard. However, I also tend to tote the gun around for a while, which makes weight a factor.

I've looked everywhere for the weight specs on these scopes with no success. Does anyone know what they are or have an idea of what the approx weight difference would be between a 44mm and 50mm?

Also, dimensions (besides tube girth) would be nice too if anyone knows them.

Did you check Leupold's? I bet you can find what you're looking for there. Additionally, the Mark 6 and VX-6 are completely different animals. I wouldn't compare the two. Figure out what you need in a scope and what you want to do with it. Chances are one will meet your needs better than the other. That's more important than half an inch of objective.

The extra 6mm of lens is not going to really add much weight at all, going from the tactical style turrets to capped hunting ones will reduce the weight substantially. Also I am not 100% but I don't think leupold will produce the vx6 in a 34mm tube which will also be a reduction in weight. I would estimate it being 18oz-20oz. No telling unless Leupold updates the website or some real info comes out.
