I’m not a tech person, what’s the oldest iPhone that can work with the new updates reliably? I think mines dying, it’s a first gen SE that sits on a table 90% of the time and randomly started having vertical lines on the screen yesterday. It’s lived in an otter box defender since day one and the screen isn’t broken.

Yesterday if I restarted it the lines went away, today not so much. It works it’s just hard to read.

Wife & I just upgraded from a Iphone 6s that would not "update" due to storage space limitations in Jan. '22. Could text and make calls, but nothing else. The 6s was 3G, and reports are that 3G is going away, or already gone.

I have the iPhone 8. Hate it, even more so with update to iOS 15.3.1. Probably going back to Samsung.

On mine most websites and the 2-3 apps I used quit working. Maybe I need to find an X or something. I know if you put the new iOS on phones that are so old they screw up.

Never used one, I just have an iPhone because they suggested it at the store.it sits on the table a majority of the time not being used anyway.

I was fine with my iPhone 6 but had apps I need for work that wouldn't work without ios 13, which to be fair was released in 2019. The company I work for builds apps and we're always trying to make stuff that wows the customer, and that usually means the latest ios, so I understand. It sucks to have to replace a perfectly usable phone - but the old phone went to my mother-in-law because she just uses it just for - wait for it - phone calls. I went with an XR and really appreciate the very long battery life.
