What 7.62 Veat/ Rig are you using?

I am in the market for either a chest rig or LBE style vest to carry SR 25 Mags. Right now I am using the SOTECH bandoleer with four 2 round mag pouches over my plate carrier.

I'd like to know what everyone else is using for SR-25, AR-10, M-14or SCAR 308 mags. Post pics if you can. Thanks fellas.

I used that Tactical Tailor MAV 2 piece with the X harness while I was in Iraq. I don't have anything bad to say about it at all. I was a hell of a lot more comfortable than the Blackhawk chest set up that it replaced. I did a piss load of walking with it too.

Check out the Tac Ready version on the Rifles Only website. I don't have one yet, but it looks interesting enough and is priced right, so I will order one when my new rifle comes in (Hey Mike, you hear that? Haha).

Another vote for the tactical tailor MAV 2- it's not cheap, but it's quality. Their pouches are good stuff too.

MSA Paraclete plate carrier with their SR25 pouches or a SOE (Before Willis and his wife split now Original SOE) Patrol vest. I haven't tried PMAGS but the steel KAC mags work fine.

How do you like that patrol vest? That's what I was considering using. If you unbuckle the center straps can you get the pouches out of your way and get pretty low in the prone?

It's a really nice piece of gear. I opened up the front straps and tightened the side straps so I'd have a more low profile front and could more easily get into the prone. I played around with making a different shoulder straps. The ones it comes with are nice but have padding which I didn't like under ruck straps. I made some straps with 3" webbing with no padding and I liked it better. Unfortunately those had to be cut off and I never got around to making a second set. I also removed one of the fastex buckles on one ammo pouch just to be able to access it faster. I didn't mess with any of the others. I got the pistol mag option on the side of the ammo pouches but used them for a tourniquet, chem lights, and pistol mags.

How many sr25/ar10 mags per pouch does the tactical tailor mac2 outfit hold? It really looks like good stuff.

+1 for the TT 2 piece mav used for a ar-10 set up. SORD Australia makes double stak sr-25 pouches, or you can use a 5.56 triple from TT and just put 2 ar-10 mags in, and use the elastic cinch to keep'em tight.
