Travelling at the moment so only have a Benchmade Griptilian and a Kershaw 3655 with me. Getting too many knives through too many airports is such a pain :-(
Still an Al Mar Eagle Talon. I have three of them, and one of the next smaller model. I like them because they are so thin they just lay comfortably beside my wallet.
Back in the 1980's, Al Mar gave me a green micarta handled Eagle Talon. I used that knife so much that I wore the blade down to where it was not safe to carry because the worn tip protruded out and kept poking me. Because the knife had a sentimental attachment for me, I contacted the company to see if I could get a new blade installed. Because they had changed manufacturers, they couldn't install a replacement blade.
So I made one out of 1095 steel. I don't have any sophisticated tools, so it took a lot of time and work with various files to get the lock mechanism as tight as I wanted, while still being smooth enough to open easily with the thumb stud. Eventually it worked out though.
Managed to snag one from the Proof Run of the new Microtech Dirac. It’s very nice, sized like the UTX85 with a top switch. Can’t wait to see what they are doing different inside. I’ve got new Cerakote mixes for aged copper and verdigris that I want to try out on the body.
I have no knife in my pocket right now, nor have I for 2 weeks as it is in the bottom of my recliner. The pricks at Carhartts made the pockets cut on a slant so it is only about 2 inches deep in the corner and every time you sit or lay down everything in your pocket falls out. How can you screw up a pocket!
Not technically speaking in my pocket, but this is the one I carry out and about the most, especially in the woods and hills. 11” blade of Crucible L6, bone charcoal color case hardened 8620 fittings, curly white ash handle.
Finally someone else that actually uses their knife!!! All these knives and I think everyone just looks cool with them. My benchmade 581 looks worn all to hell and serrations are gone on the blade it's been sharpened so much.
