I am *NOT* wanting to get in a pissing match, so please dont' take me as challenging you here. The latter part of your quote above, what about the quality to you think is lacking? Having one, and putting 300+ trouble-free rounds through it, having carried it as a BUG on-duty and as a CCW off-duty, I've been quite pleased with it. I have not torture tested it, so I don't have that type of insight.
Just curious is all. If there is some QC issues with it, I'd like to know to be sure.
Thanks much!

No pi$$ing match whatsoever.
I should have better qualified my remarks about the .380 Bodyguard as I did not mean to suggest that it was a poor pistol in total. I was disappointed with the trigger so much that it overshadowed the rest of the pistol for me personally, but that is where my issues with the pistols end. Other than the garbage trigger, the pistols seems to be of reasonable quality in terms of fit/finish/operation. I put 50 trouble-free rounds through it (which is hardly a reasonable "test" of reliability), but its owner has roughly 500 through it now without issue except for the problem I describe below. HOWEVER, when compared to other micro/compact BUGs, this one has by far some of the best ergos, but the single worst trigger pull/feel around..
Another issue to mention (but somewhat hearsay since I was not there and did not witness the problems):
The particular one I shot belongs to a good friend and colleague of mine that I regularly shoot with. Shortly after he received it, on approx. his 20th round through the pistol, it fired and the trigger did not reset. He cleared the gun, examined it briefly to look for any obvious problems, reinserted the mag, racked the slide and the trigger was not set yet again. So back to S&W for repairs it went, they repaired it in a few weeks and sent it back to him. I first viewed and shot the pistol AFTER it returned from S&W, and I have to say that it seems to function fine now with an additional almost 500 rounds down the tube since he got it back.
Things happen...parts break...I don't fault S&W for that. They promptly dealt with the problem, fixed it without charge (of course) and had it back in my friend's hands in short order where it has performed flawlessly since. Again, I don't consider that a mark against the pistol, but it was an issue that had to be fixed.
