Decided I just can't live w/o one of those 17 HMR rifles and have settled on the Savage 93R17 TS. Can't find one anywhere local here in north Alabama or on line. Anybody know of a scource or if they are seasonal?

Thanks,

I can tell you where one is, but you won't be getting it out of my safe!

For what it's worth, the whole family loves it, and if it appeals to you I would recommend you find one and not settle for something else. It is a really fun rifle, shoots well (generally five rounds under an inch at 100 even with some breezes), feels nice, and the only ammo it doesn't seem to like is the CCI hollowpoint.

And, for what this is worth, I bought mine with the Sweet 17 scope on it, figuring that would do until I got something better. It is actually a decent scope for the price, although I did have to work up a range card since the etched yardages don't work at my elevations.

Good luck!

I've got a 93 BTVS sitting in a case at my house but I doubt it will be going anywhere

I really love the wood grain on mine and its a nice heavy gun that might as well be chambered in 5mW green laser. Its the same gun in a different stock. For what its worth, get the cheap .17 HMR model and stick it in a Boyd's Tacitcool stock for about the same price.
