Which 6.5 Ammo to try first in my AXMC

Just got a 6.5 Creedmoor Gradous barrel for my AXMC. Barrel is 1 in 8 twist 26 inch. Going to shoot it for the first time this weekend. Wanted to get opinions on what factory ammo to give a shot first. I plan on getting some dies eventually but wanted to find some decent ammo to start with.

Should I just do Prime so I have good brass to load later or is the Hornady brass ok?

I've actually had bad results with Prime ammo of late. Much of it is extremely hot in the 2915 range out of my 26" barrel. I'd start with the Hornady 140 ELD.

I can't attest to the brass quality as I don't reload but I use PRIME and Hornady ELD-M 140 grain and both shoot lights out in my AT.

I do sell my brass here on the hide after I shoot it and I do get more for the PRIME if that is an indicator for you

Blackwater Precision ammo is top notch and they use Peterson brass. Can't get much better than that.

For cheap factory ammo I have had really good luck with the Hornady American Gunner. But have had really good luck with the 140 eld

Berger ammo is another one and it comes with Lapua brass..

Unless you have the small firing pin, that may be an issue

Had great luck with Factory 147 Hornady match. 10-shot groups in the .6-.7" range and SD's in the low teens. Brass is good enough and I don't worry if I lose one or two at a match.

Hornady brass is usually done after 5 firings. Federal Gold Medal Berger is the best factory loaded ammo for 6.5 IMO.
