I intend to have my 223 AR and my 308 FNAR threaded so i can get JP brakes put on.

However I also want to be able to get a silencer later the will work on those threads.

so the question is:

1. is JP the best option for brakes? this is what they off in threads
223 is .750 OD and ½-28 TPI

308 is .750 OD and 5/8-24 TPI
or
.875 OD and 5/8-28 TPI
or
1.000 OD and 3/4-28 TPI

2. is choosing one potentially going to bone me when it comes to silencer choices?

3. Or should I make silencer choice the priority for choosing thread size and then a choose a brake that that has that thread?

I've never had brakes or silencers before so I'm new to it all.

Re: which threads to get?

The standard threads for 223 suppressors are going to be 1/2-28.
The standard threads for 308 suppressors are going to be 5/8-24.

Some makers will have lots of options, but if you stay with those standard threads, you will be able to get a suppressor from ANYONE and have it work.
