Gunsmithing Who was the guy offering to do random rifle parts machining work? Or who wants to make this and get rich?

These exist for ARs but noone ever made one for a Mauser K98.

I'm looking for someone to machine a harris bipod adapter that can slide on and lock on the K98's bayonet rail.

I have no idea how this hasn't been made by someone and don't see it being that difficult; there are also a metric ton of K98s out there and getting the bayonet section to prototype off of has to be less than $15.

Could you just drill/tap into this part and install the stud where the pink finger painting is?

If you want the keep the cleaning rod in it's proper place and be able to install/remove the adapter that could complicate the design somewhat but not impossible. I think it would look funny seeing a Harris BP hanging off the front of a 100 year old surplus battle rifle too, but hey, function over form, right?

I'm not worried about the cleaning rod. And yeah, the harris will look kind of 'off' but whatever.

Wouldn't you just be better putting an Uncle Mike's sling lug in the stock? Then you can attach a bipod to that with no other modifications. And if you want to return the Mauser to stock, removing the front sling lug and putting a plug in the wood stock would be way easier than modifying the metalwork. Also, those front bands are not the strongest things... I think trying to load the bipod is going to make the end wobble and come loose...

Oh and... why put a bipod on a WW2 military rifle that never had one? They used sandbags. Sandbags worked!

    Cheers,

    Sirhr
