So I have been shooting for a long time and have shot tons or paper and steel targets. One thing I can't figure out, especially with all of the 1/8 minute dots out there now is why do a lot of targets have centers that are in black. They either have black centers in which your fine crosshairs or dots get lost very easy. Or their all black with a very small red Center. Why not just make a red circle with a 1/8 minute green dot. Or the opposite, Something that drastically offsets the color of your crosshair. It's just a thought.

For my small OCW Targets, I prefer to use a target I made using small diamonds with outside black lines and red/orange fill. The diamond shape works to align the crosshairs and the red/orange color makes it easier to see impacts. If I had a picture of it on my phone, I’d post it right now. Maybe I’ll remember to get on my laptop and post it here.

You can print out your own 'Negative' targets that flip the black and white zones.
Saves a lot of ink.

You can get 'SHoot-N-See' white/black targets. Black Splatter rings around bullet holes.

And the Brits seem to like white field targets

I like dots on typing paper but you get stuck with a target like my avatar in most competitions.
(free dots from thrown away splatter targets :) )
I think there has been some discussion about changing the target here in the US, but change is ugly.

@lash that is the target that I will use. Thank you for posting that target. I use a lot of the 1 inch round orange with the black 1/8 center stickers. I place this on the targets with the 1-inch squares for tracking. I buy these stickers in the 100-500 packs. I just wish I could find green ones with red in either combination.
