Not sure if this is the correct place for the question, so sorry if it is.
Anyone know of a good winter coat/parka. Looking for something water proof and something that can withstand cold temps.

Re: Winter Clothing

You are better off layering than looking for a do it all jacket, top off fleece and polypro with a water proof / breathable shell. Look at any of the gear from mountaineering type companies. Mike, in tropical Montana

WOOL! I have some old ww2 pea (sp?) coats, love them, with an underarmour layer, my shirt, wool sweater, wool vest and a peacoat over it, been warm at -25. The most important thing I know about keeping warm, your legs, make sure they are layered and have good cover too, their is a lot of heat lost through your legs. Wool wicks away moisture and keeps you warm even if you get wet. For legs wool pants, with a layer or two under them work for me.
