Without Remorse on Amazon-1/10 A navy SEAL revenge picture well written, but too much PC. The LT Cmdr of the SEAL team is a black female who could be no older than 30 , and leads the team into the field. The uniform has the Trident and enough fruit salad to make a lifer proud. No way could she have been on the team or had that many deployments ..Just f'n stupid.

FYI: It's been LONG time policy that just about all Hollywood productions that show military uniforms are to have deliberate misrepresentations of the awards and decorations worn on uniforms. I'm pretty sure there are very few exceptions given to the policy.

I'm not sure about that, many get it right for the most part. I know some shows, "The Shield" for example, had deliberate changes to police uniforms because of criticisms by the agencies (LAPD in this case) they were portraying. But for the most part, this S&S article gives the best reasoning why Hollyweird fucks it up.

Was watching karate Kid last night and was surprised to see that the night Myagi gets in his cups Danielson finds his MOH in a cigar box of WWII momentos.

Though Hollywood may have got it right having his wife interred in Manzanar absolutely no GI of Nisei heritage at the time got the MOH though many certainly performed acts that were worthy.

It was much later when things were set right. Probably would have happened sooner but Karate Kid had everyone thinking Miyagisan had earned one.

Sadeo Munemori was nominated in 1945 and his presentation (posthumous) took place in 1946. Noone could have gone home to his wife...

Only Nisei who was awarded contemporary to WW2.

Another 20 were awarded to Nisei in the 1990's following a review of AAR's and nominations.

Good to know the RCT 442 was good to go.

Had nothing to prove to anybody.

Not at all! They knew what they did.

I believe that some of the reason for the award was that folks were starting to think about re-integrating Japan back into the world of nations. And making sure they did not go Communist. Yes, the nomination was made some months before VJ Day, but this one went through where another couple of dozen were spiked.

The Great Game has many different facets. And thinking about the post-war world was one of them.

If the system had been just, the 442nd Regimental Combat Team would have gotten a ticker-tape parade. In a way, they did. But it took 50 years.

The number of black troops denied medals (including MoH) was also appalling... while a lot of generals and colonels (and Congressmen who got themselves high-profile staff-jobs) got them for 'Commanding from a bunker' above and beyond the call of duty.

Meh... Those who knew... knew. The ribbon was icing on the cake.
