Pretty much every President has appeased them.

    How much talking will work?

I personally believe that talking is the only way to deal with individuals such as this. Absolutely the only way.

As long as the 'talking' is done using Braille, and the 'bumps on the page' are the buttons of release.... aka "Hands on the pickle" type of thing.

Then say it loud, clear, vehemently, proud, repeatedly, and with vigor. Just to make sure nothing is lost in translation. Heh.

I hope the THAAD guys have their shit together.

If that system only has a 1% hit rating get 100 of them in place for each missile.

Fatty is prepping to launch 4.

Yesterday he was going to hit Guam.

Today its the waters of Guam.

    Apparently he is listening.

Launch the fuckers already and see what happens.

I have deployed to Korea several times during events such as this - 1994 and 1995. We have talked to them, gave them gasoline, food, and basically cajoled them into stopping or slowing their nuclear programs. What that has gotten us is nothing but time. They have worked with other countries to enhance their weapon programs, ala Iran. We are at the point where the decisions are getting more narrow. There are limited choices left on the table other than war or let them have nukes and become part of the club. The second one is not very palatable to at least a government that has cojones. It would not be a pretty war. The North Korea people fanatical about their Dear Leader.

We just need to get an understanding of what they want and why now? They normally are very calculating people that have a goal and purpose. The Kim's understand the power of the U.S. and may not want to risk chances for the next little Kim of not having a empire to run.

There is no misunderstanding how nuts and how artillery packed the Norks are.

If they launch they cast the die.

    Its all up to China.

They have their balls in the vice.

It will be interesting to see if China will lose its economy over Fatty and his Champagne regime.

Defense Secretary James Mattis, following the exchange of threats, released a statement saying that the Pentagon was prepared for any escalation to violence including an offensive attack or a defensive, retaliatory attack.

“While our State Department is making every effort to resolve this global threat through diplomatic means,“ the statement said, ”it must be noted that the combined allied militaries now possess the most precise, rehearsed and robust defensive and offensive capabilities on Earth.”

It could be he is trying to move the goal posts to some degree with the newer version of saber rattling.
I consider him to be as crazy a fuck that is available at the moment though.
The Chinese question should answer itself shortly I presume.

He has moved the goal posts each time since Clinton.

Clinton promised "Peace in our time" while providing billions to build reactors.

Time has only worked in fattys favor.

Where is the goal line stand?

This is nothing new but foreign policy scare tactics through the news agencies. NK had the ability to minimize their nukes to fit their warheads 4 years ago per the DOD. Fatboy is just saber rattling for more free stuff as done in the past, just have to ramp things up a bit to get your point across kind of like the free stuff army here.

The Chinee could have their hands full on their western border. The shit is escalating between them and India.

The reality is that China has nothing to fear from a reunited Korea. Maybe in the '70s... but today, it's probably a benefit for them economically.

Refugees? Not a chance. The ROK's will be in there with trucks of rice so fast the NK peasants will be fleeing South as fast as they can. The only refugees on the Chicom border... will be ex NK higher-ups with war crimes/genocide crimes pending. That amounts to a few hundred psychos who can be dealt with by expedience of .32 to back of head.

The reality is that the Chicom government has their heads in their asses. The NK's are psychotic. Diplomacy is, really, the only route. UNLESS, G2 has shown that a decapitating strike will keep the colonels, majors and captains who are cocking cannons on the border from pulling their lanyards. If that's the case... then level Pyongyang and give the captains, majors and colonels new Hyundais and flatscreens... and they won't pull their lanyards. Big question...

Best comment I saw today was from a resident of Guam who said "We're in the safest place on the planet right now... with Kim Jong Un aiming at us. Have you seen their missile tests?"

    Cheers,

    Sirhr

We could use a nice good war that we could win and move on with and take a break from the sandbox for awhile.
Wiping out the NK leadership and keeping the Chinese at bay with the threat of tactical nukes and doing a Korean re-unification under the rule of SK would be the best war we have done in awhile.
Quit with the talking BS and just wipe their army & leadership off the face of the earth before lunch.
Would also put the Chinese in their place a bit.

Uh, why exactly do "We just need to get an understanding of what they want and why now?" Seriously, why do "WE" need to do this?

You think I am speaking from a weak point of view because I want to know what they want? I am asking the question because to know what your enemy wants, and is thinking, is to get ahead of their Observe, Orient, Decide, and Act (OODA) cycle so you can have a decision advantage over your enemies moves. We can make decisions based upon facts and intelligence in order to defuse the situation or strike strategically to get the enemy to rethink their position.

This is a strategic chess match and it's all about who blinks first. If this were the past president we would have already blinked; however, the current president offers nothing but fire on the North Koreans. And that is driving the liberals crazy because they already want to throw in the towel before the first punch is thrown. That's what got us here in the first place was Clinton's acquiescence to North Korea in the 90's.

They're probably looking for another handout of some sort to feed their people because all their state income goes to weapons. I think I read they had a bad drought this year and winter isn't too far off. Plus we have a new POTUS for them to test.

President Donald Trump took his bellicose rhetoric up another notch in the confrontation with North Korea, warning that the U.S. was 'locked and loaded.' He tweeted that military solutions are now 'fully in place.' He warned North Korean leader Kim Jong-un Thursday: '"If he does something in Guam, it will be an event the likes of which nobody has seen before, what will happen in North Korea," Trump said, pushing back on North Korea's threatened missile launch toward the U.S. territory.' North Korea said Friday morning: ''Trump is driving the situation on the Korean peninsula to the brink of nuclear war, making such outcries as 'the U.S. will not rule out a war against the DPRK,' CNN reported.

Looks like fatty is getting nervous.

Its time for him to shit or get off the pot.

Whatever his decision he will shit or get off the pot.

    Something to consider.
Wouldn't a NK war also play into the premise that Trump is a warmonger and thus add to the "reasons" why he should be impeached?
I know Kim Jong Puke is a psychotic SOB but these actions would play into the EU's/Dems narrative well.

If Trump gets fatty to commit suicide by USA or tuck tail and back down he will have done more than the entire last 25 years of governance in just 200 some odd days.

The globalists can cry impeachment all they want.

Amercans will realize they are on the road to "Great again".

The micro view is that all the controversy around Trump is because he is Trump.

The macro view is that we are in the midst of a cold civil war/ soft coup being propagated by the US establishment political class in unison with a world globalist desire to create the earth federation and they can't do that with the worlds biggest power running on a government that supports individual freedom and the free market.

If we engage the Norks in a land war, some of us old geezers may get our chance.

In the 90's my unit got briefed on what our initial mission would be if the Norks crossed the DMZ. A few of us looked at the scenario and it was clear in those days that NK would be several hundred miles into the South before any meaningful opposition could be mounted. Our CO made a comment to the effect that if it really kicked off to that degree then the Draft may be reinstated.

I don't remember what was going on over there that precipitated the briefing, but I'm sure Slick Willy threw some billions at them. I'm certainly not saying that we'd ever go back to a draft, but a full on land war without nukes would be unlike anything we've seen before. The tank battles of WWII would look like NTC exercises. If you factor in our lunatic obsession with "nation building" and the Chinese unwillingness for a US puppet on their border, we could end up with an East/West Germany scenario which puts us basically right back where we are now.

I am believing more and more that China is pulling the strings, trying to flush out what our as yet undisclosed defense systems are.

No doubt that China's hands are all over this. I saw this morning that they'd pledged neutrality if the Norks fired first but not if we attacked preemptively. Leaving the heavily armed Elephant in the room of what would their actual response be if we acted first.

Im not an "endless talks and sanctions" guy, that's what's given us a nuclear Iran; superpower China; restored superpower Russia; and nuclear NK, however these latest sanctions at least appear to have some teeth. As usual I'm sure we can count on our friends the French to circumvent them.

China says they will sit this one out if the fat boy pulls the trigger first.......question is what will Trump consider "pulling the trigger" to be.

If NK does nothing that is a win.

Fatty has to figure out how to disengage and save his Asian concept of "face".

He wrote a check China wont co sign for.

Fatty better ask permission before he launches a kite now because with his rhetoric and having nukes anything that leaves the launch pad should be considered "fired first".

There is no benefit of the doubt based on what he said and what he has.

Anything that flies north, south or east is a first strike. If he wants to fire west....go ahead.

Hopefully this is the toe of the wedge that separates the Kim family from absolute power and running anything bigger than a kimchi stand.

I do love me some bi bim bap.

I think McLaine hit it on the head. China's move was brilliant.

We aren't going to first strike. But now Kim Jong Nutball has to explain to his generals and the minions of Pyongyang... that he is not as powerful as the wizard appears. If he stumbles, and by failing to launch or get America to back down and give him Money and Food to support his regime... he stumbles/ There will be a general (or generals) who are ready to put a pill in fat-boy's brain pan.

And how hard would it be, after all the purges and craziness, to reach out to a few division commanders to say.... we'll give you $50 million and a nice house in Cote D'Azur if you knock the chair out from under Un boy. The alternative is that he will probably purge you sooner or later. Because he is nuts. Most of the senior leadership didn't believe he should have ascended. They are more in fear of him than the Soviets were in fear of Stalin.... As for the rest of North Korean people... they have nothing to do with the government but send their kids for conscription (which is forced labor for much of the NK Army). And try and scrape by on 900 calories a day. They are starving in the countryside. And Un is under the gun right now, because there is a major drought on... no rice crop this fall... They are going to starve without imports.

If all this bluster proves that Un is impotent... he either launches because he has nothing to lose, fries a lot of whales and fish (if that, since their tech is flaky) and then gets flattened. While China says "What, me worry?"

Or he backs down. We stay on alert for a while, which will do the PacCom good long term... and when Un backs down, he gets taken down from internal forces. But the reason Un is doing this is to blackmail the West into giving him the food for the peasants he knows he needs... and money to buy the presents and bribes for his inner circle. He buys loyalty with cars, houses, cash, electronics... if they don't get their Christmas Presents... his generals play for another team. Or themselves.

I heard China's announcement this AM and my first reaction was... "That's it for Un." Just a matter of time. Months.... Rice crop should start coming in shortly. What rice crop? Rut ro....

Unless our own coterie of leftist gummint progressives who love Communism and all it stands for... do something appalling... and prop Un up again. Would you put it past Schumer, Pelosi, Feinstein, Sanders... and the rest of them? I mean... listen to Clapper's 'claptrap.'

    Good call McLaine

    It's all bad...

Lots of people will be dead and for what? You lose South Korea; you lose a ton of technology. He will attack the South with artillery and soldiers at the same time he launches a missile at some target. It won't be Guam. I don't believe anyone knows what fat boy will actually target if he does anything at all.

If we launch a response, is it a bright boy response or a massive amount of conventional ordinance? Unless you decapitate the whole thing, it won't matter.

This reminds me of the Cuban Missile Crisis. However, the personalities involved are very different.

Oh and BTW...the world economy would collapse...

Maybe there is a reason this is all happening

He won't target anything that he thinks will result in full blown war and he won't invade the South unless he's facing an attack that would remove him from power. He's just stomping his feet cause that's been lucrative business for the north.

I I hope his ass is done away with without war. I also hope if the US chooses war, it does so with the intention of destroying the north and is fully prepared to do the same to China. And fuck nation building.

I would invite everyone to read your history .
Anything that happens will be cluster fucked by entrenched politicians looking to rape this for millions of dollars .
If the Norks come over the border better have the high ground and about 3 billion rounds of ammunition . I don't think technology is stopping the numbers they plan to send unless you're talking nuclear physics .
Unless China embeds with the North their tanks are near worthless . We should be moving Warthogs to Japan or Guam right now .
If we are attacked first Australia has a mutual defence treaty with us that they said they will
adhere to . I think that Japan may just be itching to see what it's Defence Force can do .

If the UN has any involvement we may as well just start gettin pallets of money ready and grab both cheeks cause were gettin fucked good and hard .

India and Pakistan hate each other. . If China and India get involved Pakistan ( China's ally ) will come runnin with bells on . I got a years salary that says the balloon goes up on that one .

Even if China doesn't get involved China gets involved and so does Russia . Everybody loves live fire training . Hey lets see what this one does . We do it , they do it. .
wanna keep Russia out ? Start running some goodies to Ukraine . And I'm sure Russia is all ready thing that if we start slugging on the Korean Penninsula they win Poland . We can't support two big wars .

Ok so not completely history and Im sure that this shit has already start some three dimensional chess . Our war scenario based private military think tanks are probably creamin their jeans as we speak .
Not sure what our HUMINT looks like these days but as Tsun Tzu says , Intel , Intel , Intel .

If our current secretary of Defense is anything like his reputation, he probably already has several plans on Trump's desk to put a near immediate halt to all ability by the NK idiots to attack SK and also keep the Chinese from trying to come across the border.

I'm sure there is also a backup plan with nuke tipped bunker busters. And if needed, I'm sure somewhere we have at least once thought about building up a Fusion device using non-radioactive shielding for the second and third stage compression cores so there would be minimal radiation output, but high energy yield. (Soviets tested one, so it couldn't be that hard). Ground Burst that 50mt+ baby and their capital is a crater no matter how deep their subways are & radiation is minimal/negligent to surrounding areas.

If the leadership was to have the testicular fortitude and the ruthlessness to do so, I'm confident we could be done with NK in a single day & neither the Chinese or the Russians would interfere.
Then of course we'd have to help the SK guys with the whole re-unification thing and such, but probably would come out cheaper in the end than our current dealing with NK over a 10 year period.

(for those who think the Chinese are in a position to stop us, it all depends on how much guts you have... Invite the Chinese ambassador over to see the control room with all the ICBMs targeted to them and on launch ready status, as well as a quick visit to an airbase to see a bunch of bombers taking off to do a 1960s style Chrome Dome operation, with a stern warning that one launch of anything from the chinese or one shot fired by them and the recall orders are not given, I can guarantee they see the advantages of letting fat boy get what's coming to him & will probably also not challenge us on anything in the future till the next administration. The Russians like to talk big, but they know they go to hot direct war with us, even not nuclear, they loose bad quickly & they don't want a bloody nose over some fat freak).

It's probably easier than that W54... tell them that we no longer accept Chinese consumer goods at the border... and your factories will have to shutter. And your peasant slave labor will be unemployed and unfed. And they are done.

China is on a knife-edge. IMHO, their politbureau could care a rats ass if 500 million Chinese die. It solves a major problem for them. But they DO car is 500 million Chinese no longer have a factory to go to in the morning that keeps them occupied and marginally fed and genuinely busy. Because when they are not busy... there is no force in the world that will stop that population from taking down the Politbureau.

The Chinese have done, actually, a pretty remarkable job of 'soft landing' their Maoist system. And gradually moving over to capitalism. Many such transitions have been cataclysmic. They have a long view... and their iron grip is to prevent the chaos that would follow in the wake of a rapid disintegration of their economy, as happened in FUSSR and Eastern Europe. We don't want that either, BTW. Because the chaos would spill over into a global mess. So it's in our interest to help China with their soft landing.

This is part of the problem that the 'globalists' have created. Then again, it's also part of the problem us technologists have created. Because phones, electronic communications, global media, air travel, inter-twined economies have created a nice globalist economy whether we like it or not. The Butterfly Effect is now very real. And while politics may get the lion's share of the attention... as usual, follow the money.

And I agree with you W54... left to our devices (literally) NK could go away in a day or two. There is no guerilla problem as in the sandbox. The only refugees going North into China are NK gummint stalwarts with prices on their heads. And the SK's can handle the nation building with truckloads of Kimchee and Dinty Moore Canned stew. That's all they want in the hinterland. That and to not be shot for watching MASH re-runs on their smuggled-in Internet devices.

Again, though, I think the storm will pass.

    Cheers,

    Sirhr

I think that decades pf talking is what has gotten us this far. IMHO, the current outcome is about as lousy as it could get us short of O and O nuclear war. If I were the Quarterback, I'd be seriously considering a punt.

Juice Box Hero and his nuclear toys need to be forcibly removed from the toy box. Goad him into a launch (pretty good work so far...), then counterattack with extreme prejudice. It scares me more that Kim is planning to miss Guam than that he might be planning to hit Guam.

    That's an opinion.

My cats can't stop fighting each other long enough to notice a nuclear threat, and the dogs are oblivious. But then, the dogs always oblivious. They are probably dumber than stumps. My older cat hisses and growls at anything on four feet these days. Poor kitty, her world has gone to hell since the new pets have arrived.

    Kinda like Trump and Kim.

Can we get K Dung Hill interested in something besides missiles ? This
desperate need to be seen as a world power is getting sad . Meanwhile
China continues to sneak into high altitude areas of India , with Paki trying
to sneak in the other side . Having spent a few years working from the east
to western Indian borders in the mountains , we need to preserve India as
a buffer zone in the region , and throw them some very nice bones .

As Sirhr and PMac said above , China has the most to lose here . 500 million
unemployed pissed off workers is a fair start to a revolution .

[h=1]Japan Sends Surprise To US Fleet In Massive Show of Support For President Trump[/h]

Japan just sent a strong message to the rest of the world. That despite the liberal media’s attempts to sow chaos all is well and good, and they support President Trump and America.

And are ready to take action to prove it.

Allies are important as President Trump knows and if you listen to the media all you will hear is that Trump makes our allies nervous.

Not true, Trump has a great relationships around the world. And after North Korea threatened to attack Guam, Japan proved their loyalty.

Japan’s new defense minister came out today and said he stands with Trump and added a special surprise for our Pacific Fleet that is in harm’s way should any missiles fly.

He said that his country’s military could shoot down the missiles before they reach Guam.

Japan said they will activate its Aegis destroyer missile defense system, Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera told the National Diet, Japan’s parliament in response North Korea’s threat.

According to Reuters, A spokesman for the Korean People’s Army (KPA) threatened,

“The KPA Strategic Force is now carefully examining the operational plan for making an enveloping fire at the areas around Guam with medium-to-long-range strategic ballistic rocket Hwasong-12 in order to contain the U.S. major military bases on Guam including the Anderson Air Force Base.”

Japan responded by reminding the world that any attack against Guam is a threat and attack against Japan and cited Japan’s mutual defense agreement with America as just one of the reasons they will stand with America.

Japan sits about 620 miles to the east of North Korea and they have been watching the growing threat seriously.

Most of the missiles North Korea tests land in the Sea of Japan which as they say is too close for comfort.

Sadly, Obama and Bush and the rest of the establishment sat on their hands and did nothing so now Trump has to clean up the mess.

It is a national disgrace what they have allowed to happen. Guam lies about 1,600 miles south of Japan and opting to include that island under its missile defense protection is a welcome change.

Japan had previously said they would only shoot down North Korean missiles if they were aimed at Japan.

As I see it, nothing positive has happened.

Pudgy is still equipped with whatever he had a week ago, and the threat remains completely unchecked. Simply more of the same; chin music. I don't really care whether he launches of not, because simply waving red flags at him only ensures that he's got more time for development and gets better and better able to launch a better rocket The time for him, his weapons, and his regime to get massively thumped is here and passing. You don't solve a problem by debating it.

Otherwise, it's just like Obama was still the President; which I'm pretty sure pleases a whole bunch of folks on The Hill, and lest we forget, CNN.

This whole issue is just BS.

Just do it. Not doing it is simply encouragement to all the other Nuke Wannabe's

Do we have any good choices? No. But shrinking from the bad choices is an Obama strategy. Doesn't work, never worked, it just passes the buck while Pudgy's Dr. Beakers refine the weapons.

Keep this up and I promise you, Americans will die before anyone gets off the pot. Do any of you want to serve as trip wires?

The beat goes on, and the elephant in the room just keeps getting bigger. All we've accomplished is proving that nobody wants to actually solve this problem. Of course, solving problems just creates new ones. But it also establishes an environment where the first and only step to solving problems is no longer a protocol with a core emphasis on fear driven paralysis; just like Obama.

Considering how 'cut off' from anything "land" related that the South Korean's are, the only methods of transportation (internationally) is either boat or plane. As of this moment, they sit at the end of a peninsula.

Make them an island, and simply call it/them Korea, and that's the end of the problem. China is still China, and everyone else is still everyone else, AND there is simply more important'er things in the world to focus on.

Like Guam tipping over, and such. (You AmeriYanks and you're senators...... hilarious)

The test will be the next rocket launch.

If we mean it we don't let the thing get 300 feet in the air before a THAAD takes it out.

The down side to that is if THAAD is a DUDD than we have made fools of ourselves.

or better yet launch a THAAD and purposely miss.

The next one will be targeted at Guam.

Than on the next one just blow a new Panama Canal between China and South Korea and as the live nuke is shown to be headed toward Guam let Guam THAAD blow it out of the air.
