Rifle Scopes WTK Steiner 1-4x rapid dot for 556 or 762?

I just got this in trade and came across a description on both reticles offered, but can't seem to find images for both reticles and there's no indication on the scope anywhere I looked, usually scopes will indicate within the reticle.

Is anyone familiar with identifying this reticle? It didn't come with a factory box either and i'm guessing the original OP was clueless since he removed himself from the topic after proposing the question

In the upper edge of the FOV you should see an etching that read "Rapid Dot 556" or "Rapid Dot 762". Let me know if you don't see it.

I knew it was something simple like that. Just sold our last 1-4 so I wasn't able to check to make sure.

First Post here. I'm a 3 Gun shooter and I'm looking for some optic wisdom.


I'm looking for a new optic for my 3 Gun rifle (AR in 5.56) and I really like the Steiner 1-4x24.

It's been discontinued and replaced by a 1-5 model. The 1-4 is at discount pricing at a number of retailers.

I'm really confused on the reticle offerings.

For this optic, I've found the following options:

1) Rapid Dot 5.56

2) Rapid Dot 7.62

3) DM1 Reticle (no picture found)

4) Rapid Dot 308 (it is listed as a separate product code from the 7.62 model)

What gives here? The 5.56 and the 7.62 have the exact same milirad measurements. Are they the same reticle? What is the DM1? And the Rapid Dot 308?


(Also, please don't try to sell me on a Vortex, Swaro, etc.... I'm really settled on this scope as it has the features and pricing that fit me. I just can't figure out the difference in the available reticles.)

One shop has the "Rapid Dot 308" model super discounted. If the milirads are the same as the 5.56, I may just buying and write up a dope sheet for my 5.56 load.
