I adjusted my trigger down on my X-Mark Pro as low as I could go without needing more sear engagement, ie- I brought it low enough that it would slam fire, then brought it back up a bit so that it wouldn't. I don't have a trigger scale handy, but it feels like 2.5 pounds or so, though it might be more or less.
Anyhow, I have been practicing my trigger pull per the online training, and it seems like the pull is inconsistent. Every now and again, it seems really heavy. I probably only notice it because I have pulled the trigger a thousand or so times now, between practice and range time, but it bothers me a bit. It somewhat breaks my concentration when I am making a shot if the trigger requires double the effort to pull (or so it seems.)
Is it all just in my head, or is this a real drawback to the factory trigger? I know that this could be eliminated by going to an aftermarket trigger, and maybe I could see the value in it if I had some trigger time on one, but for the most part, this trigger seems to get the job done and allows me to put money other places on this build.
Also, I searched and searched and searched, but is there a good guide online for adjusting your own (post 09) x-mark pro? I removed the external screw, then adjusted the weight screw as low as I could go, but haven't messed with the sear engagement or over travel. If I could get it a bit lighter without adding creep, I would like to.
Thanks,
-BM
