Was out the other night for some nvg shooting with my AR, went great. Cleaned the rifle next day and discovered an end cap strike on my qd yhm ti phantom (5.56 caliber). Nothing too major, but a small chunk of Ti missing. I've shot thousands of rounds through this can without issue so my best guess is a separated jacket from the cheap 55 grain Everglades ammo bullets I was shooting. There was a small strike on my muzzle break as well, but no apparent damage to internal baffles. Glad the strike wasn't serious enough to launch the can as I would have been out all night looking!
Called yhm to see if they'd inspect or possibly repair the can for me. I fully expected to pay for the work. The rep told me he'd get an RMA right out and that they'd take care of it all at no charge to me (outside of shipping). Even told me that if I had destroyed the can beyond repair they'd replace it AND buy my stamp.
I havent sent sent it back yet and will update the thread as this progresses. Just thought I'd pass along the info for anyone not aware. I had heard of other companies doing this for customers but hadn't heard a specific case with yhm. I've been happy with this can and imo have gone above and beyond for something that appears to be my fault, ultimately.
thanks, YHM!
