You ever see DBM on a .22-250?

Kevin at Stockade Gunstocks built a stock for me. I called him just in the nick of time to see if his stock would accept CDI bottom metal. He said "let me check on your order first." It had just come out of the mold the day before. He informed me that he builds DBM that accepts A.I. mags and that if I purchased the DBM from him he wouldn't charge me to inlet it. Of course I said go for it.

He couldn't get a 10 round A.I. mag to work because of the contour of the .22-250 brass. It wanted to banana in the magazine. He also told me that he'd never installed DBM for a .22-250. I was wondering if any of ya'll had one or have seen one before?

Only pic I have doesn't showcase the DBM very well, but I can fix that in a couple of days.

I have a friend that built one on a 700 action. He may respond to this thread. He had it reamed to a 22-250 AI because you can only run 4 rounds in an AI mag for the reasons stated by your smith.

TOO damn much taper. The AI fixes the issue.

I may consider going AI when I get my barrel shot out in a few years. My .22-250 sees the most action prarie dogin these days. So I'm just going to wait till that barrel is done in.

Armalite made some AR10Ts in 22-250. Had problems with the mags when loaded more than a couple few.

I have a 700 that started life as a .22-250. It eventually wore a Badger M5. It worked fine, but again only holds 4 in a 5-round mag. It is now a .22-250AI after shooting out the barrel. I have yet to load for it, so I can't speak of how it works now.

Kevin mentioned doing some trial and error building a mag for .22-250 that would hold 10 rounds. I told him to call me when, and if, he gets that done.

Time will tell.

Prolly good that I'm not going to the Texas Panhandle with a 10 rounder anyway. I bet I'll get the chamber and barrel plenty hot with a 5 rounder. I know I did last year.

I just pulled my AICS .308 5 round mag out and it fit five rounds with no problem.

I've got a 5 round AI mag. The 10 round mag was the problem. I'm still happy with an AI mag sitting under a .22-250. Aaaaand that gave me another mag for my .308 that has CDI bottom metal.

I can get 8 in the 10 round mag before they start to screw up.

I will be using just the 5 rounders in my switch barrel.
