youth 243 info

picked up a beautiful 243 VLS rem 700 for my daughter as a deer gun. She's 12yrs old small framed, 4'6" and 70lbs.

I'm wanting to get a decent youth stock, need suggestions.

Also its varmint contour, how much can I take off the barrel and have it still be effective? 22" sound right

What's the highest grain bullet I can run in this at 5000ft and still stabilize with a shortend barrel? It's a stock 9 twist. 87 gr vmax for deer and p dogs

Gunbroker had some youth stocks out there...Check there. As for the short barrel, it will stabilize 100gr with the 22" barrel.

who makes a decent stock? hogue, b&c, hs? don't really want to get her a plastic pile of crap.
