The perplexity of ar10 loads

I am currently running a 20" Wilson Super Sniper in 308 Win lately. It been amazing and is absurdly accurate. I also shoot a Seekins PWS MK218 which is another excellent rifle. Something I have noticed with both as I develop loads for them: Even factory 147 gr FMJ tend to have substantial ejector swipes and flattened primers. I was running Aguila today and all the casing are non-reloadable due to ejector peel marks, from both rifles. I tried some handloads I was working up for a bolt gun, a minimum charge of Varget, same thing. Is this a common issue with AR10s? I will admit I do not shoot mine often, its usually a 300blk or one of my bolt action rifles. It seems a waste of good brass.

Is the Chargemaster Supreme a solid choice for a beginner?

I’m slowly gathering parts to go down the reloading rabbit hole. So far I have ordered a Forster Co Ax and 3 sets of there bench rest FL sizing dies and seater dies for .270, 6.5 creed and 30-06.

My main purpose will be hunting inside 500 yards and to shoot small groups on paper. However I do plan to take the 30-06 and 6.5 out to 1000 yards once I get a hand on learning the ropes of reloading. Not into PRS or ELR at the moment so this is strictly a hobby for me.

I’ve been doing a lot of research of powder throwers and it seems the Auto Trickler V4 paired with the A&D fx120i scale is the gold standard with the chargemaster supreme being a solid choice as well.

1. Will the chargemaster fit my needs with the ranges I listed above?

2. Will I notice a big enough difference in group size with the Auto Trickler V4 to justify the cost?

Keep in mind I’m brand new to reloading, and will only be making small batches of ammo (50 rounds) at a time. The auto trickler seems pricey for someone just getting started but I’m also a buy once cry once individual. If the chargemaster will fit my needs then that leaves me $600 to go towards a garmin chronograph or reloading components. All recommendations welcome.

Gunsmithing Who here is really good at doing cerokoating/colors on a Glock?

So a bit late to the game... but want to create a Kamala-tribute Glock... in much the same way that I did my Biden and Trump commemorative AR's.

Need to find someone who can do some really amazing coating work...

Who's out there who can help me out? I have an idea... but want to discuss. Will need to be a gradiated coating... Over the top of some slide engraving. I don't want to do this one with Krylon/airbrush.

Yes... it will be a fun project! And epic!

Advice on thermal clip on

Good day.

I read through many of the topics on here regarding the topic but I’m not sure if I could find and answer to my questions.

I am former infantry and got to use more than a few thermal and night vision devises. I try to keep up with some standard of tactics and shooting in the civ div. Things have certainly changed since the GWOT days. Unfortunately my budget is not the same as the military. I do some coyote hunting on my property and plenty of LARPing with the boys.

I live in the west mountain area and frequently run and gun and shoot some longer ranges usually out to 1000m

My 6.5 Grendel in a 12.5” barrel has really been good to me and I would like to get a clip on thermal scope for that rifle. It’s topped with a Burris xtr 2 2x10. What clip on should I consider with a budget of around 3-5k. What models should I keep an eye out for on the new and used market to put on this rifle considering the limited rail space. Ideally I would like to shoot out to 500 yards using the thermal device.

Trump's Accomplishments While In Office: A Full, Detailed List of Campaign Promises Kept—and So Much More.

Show this to any moderates you know, that aren't sure if who they are voting for!
It's shocking what all he got done while fighting the establishment - the entire time!

Someone spent some time on this.

Over standard at .200" line, can make remedy?

Hello to all!

I've some 2nd hand 6,5x47 Lapua brass that I received with my rifle, but I don't know how many reload was passed before I started to use this.

Now these cases show, at .200 line, measures greater that the standard SAAMI and measures obtained resizing the brass with a Forster FL Bushing die.
When, after FL resizing, I insert the brass on the chamber, close the bolt and after open the bolt whe have a click/clickering at the up of the bolt.

I read on the Net that the cause of the increasing of the quote at .200 line are a sign t'ha the brass are at end of is life, lost primers, head separation, bla bla bla...

Now I ask if are some remedy for this problem.
Ring die?
Small base body die?
Recicling bin?
Other?

Thanks, Camillo

Short barrel cartridges

Hey guys, just curious if there are certain cartridges that pair particularly well with short barrels? Or is it simply pick a cartridge and shave off x amount per inch? I am looking to build a 16 to 18-in bolt gun at around the 30-06 power level for around 0-300 yards, but we don't need to limit it just to that. I'm curious either way. It could be short action or long. So really I'm exploring all options. I saw a couple other threads but I believe they were just for short action stuff.

Vortex not zeroing after warranty service?

So I had to send in a LHT for warranty service after a failed custom turrent installation resultedin the turret being superglued in a locked position.

Got the scope back and mounted it. 1st range vist had trouble getting it dialed in. Thought maybe it was me. Went back yesterday and was shooting well. My Benelli Lupo with VX-5 printed the attached group so I know I was on. I could not get the LHT to zero again! Right before the mishap that caused the warranty issue I was printing 1/2 inch groups at 200.

So a few questions:

Has anyone had trouble with a Vortex directly after getting it back from service? Does vortex have some kind of recoil machine or something they test these in before they send them out?

I can switch it for a Veractiy I have lying around to test the scope to see what happens.

Should I try to print a group at 50 or 25 or something to see if it might just be me at 100?

Once I started to chase it, the gun did admittedly get hot, but from the outset this seemed to be an obvious issue.

Thanks for any feedback or tips. Right now, I would not take that gun hunting and am trying to find the most efficient way to figure this out.
