Just wondering how do we reset a scopes turrets. I own a Steiner M8Xi 1-8 scope, and I zeroed this optic on my rifle, and I also set the zero stop back to 0 so I can only dial up in mils, setting the zero stop is merely loosening two hex screws on the turret, and rotating the turret back to 0, then re-tightening the hex screws on the turret. However, once this is done you cannot rotate the turret down, or you cannot lower the reticle. You can only go up in turret elevation mil clicks. So, I’m wondering how would one go about resetting a scopes turrets and reticle to the factory defaults if mounting the glass to another weapon, so the reticle can be perfectly centered.

I have not been able to find much information on this. And I’m wondering how can the zero stop even be removed or restored back to default settings? Do I loosen the hex screws, dial the turret back up to factory defaults and tighten them again?

I bought this from a fellow that bought it new with 200 rounds on it. I have not shot the rifle. The stock is very clean with no chips or scratches. It has a couple small impressions when you move the stock around in the light. The blueing on the barreled action is also very nice with a couple small marks in the bluing. It will also come withe the rings and bases that came with it. It is a very clean rifle. Believe I was told these have a 14 twist and a 26 inch barrel. The bad is I decided to remove the rings and put a pic rail on it. All the screws came out pretty easy but 1 of them had the head come off. So part of the screw is still above the receiver and I took a pick and tapped the edge of it to see if I could move it around. Yes it did happen, it slipped off and put a mark near the screw in the receiver shown in a picture. After I did that it went straight in the safe as I was ticked off. Decided to sell it off as I have a couple 223 AR rifles. The trigger is very nice on it and I took it out of the stock 1 time to clean it and it had a nice bedding job done to it.

From what I can tell, it appears to be some kind of PVD coating that can be used to treat both the interior and exterior of rifle barrels. I've read rumors around the web that Sig may be using something like this on the 277 Fury barrels to deal with what should otherwise be quite the barrel burner.

PVD/DLC is a line-of-sight coating, thus hasn't been implemented for barrel bore treatment heretofore.

Need a new saw. I have a late 80's 038 probably made in Germany (was my dad's). Time to let it sit on a shelf and take up space. Work we use newer Stihls, the high end saws are nice. The mid range take a dump constantly (throttles break all the time).

Looking at the Echo 620P. Would be used mostly for felling/bucking around the farm, might occasionally take on some extra work felling with a neighbor to feed his mill. 620P should be American made.

Most of my reading says they are a good tool. Not quite a pro saw but better than consumer (rebuildable, light weight/power). Compared to here, most places I have read do not suggest buying a Stihl or a Husky. Jonserd is nice, but no local dealers/parts suppliers. We have Stihl, and Echo here and TSC sells the cheaper Huskys.

On Friday, the Financial Times reported that Boeing acknowledged some parts of their jets contain counterfeit titanium from China.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported that Boeing had told officials they had received titanium parts containing counterfeit documentation.
Boeing bought the counterfeit components from Kansas-based aerostructure manufacturer Spirit AeroSystems.
In the past, Spirit AeroSystems has had problems with quality issues.
The Financial Times reported Spirit AeroSystems received the titanium from China, where its documentation was reportedly falsified.
The FAA said in a statement, “Once we realized the counterfeit titanium made its way into the supply chain, we immediately contained all suspected parts to determine the scope of the issues.”

Airliners manufactured by Boeing and Airbus have components made from titanium that was sold with fake documentation.
The Federal Aviation Administration revealed the problem after Boeing reported it to the agency when it was notified by parts supplier Spirit AeroSystems.
Spirit is the same company that made the door on the 737 Max plane that suffered a door blowout on January 5 and began Boeing’s recent spate of problems.
The FAA said it was ‘investigating the scope and impact of the issue’ and how it could affect the safety of the unknown number of planes using the parts.
