One-Day Range Load Development

I was just wondering if it's possible to do a one-day load development.

Plateform: Aero Percision Solus
Caliber: 6mm CM
Barrel: 26in Sendero (100 rounds through)
Bullet: 108 gr ELDM
Brass: New Alpha OCD LRP
Powder: H4350
Primer: CCI #200 LRP

1- (Powder Charge test)Load up 1 or 3 rounds each from 39.2gr-41/42gr or in .2 increments seated .03 from Jam 2.810" (seated at 2.780"") (10rounds vs 30 rounds vs 60 rounds)
*Once the node is found only shoot that node group and save the rest for something else or reuse it to re-test seating depth once the group changes to retune.

2- (Bullet Seat test) Load an additional 3x3 rounds from the powder charge test seating .03 (2.750", 2.720",2.690") 120 Rounds vs 180 rounds)

The only reason for this one-day load development is that the range is 1.5hr away without traffic and 2.5hr-3hr with traffic. I'm trying to make the most with time and money. They cost almost the same if I were to do 2 trips vs 1 trip and loading extra for seating depth so the only thing is I'm losing time. The only way I lose is if the range for the seating node isn't enough.

Any assistance is much appreciated.

300nm or 338lm

Hello all I am going to be building a custom large caliber rifle and I am torn between a 300nm and 338lm. This will be a heavy rifle for shooting steel and a few long range hunting spots I have for elk and bear. I originally wanted a 338lm but my smith recommended a 300nm with the new 250atips or 245 bergers.

338 i would use the 300gr otm.

What are your thoughts ?

Weight does not matter
It will be suppressed, I already have a 338 can in jail.

Gonna be built on a defiance action.

I would like a solid 2k yard rifle on steel and 1k rifle for animals, 1k would be a stretch but I would like the energy if I felt comfortable that day.

I already have a full custom 300wm so I do not want a 7prc or 300prc etc.

Thoughts?

66% (2/3rds) IPSC C zone steel???

Anyone know where I can get some 66%(or 2/3rd) IPSC C zone only (not full silhouette) AR 500 steel targets? A full C zone is roughly 12"x24" with a 6"x6" head box. The ones I have are "9x18" with a 4"x4" head box. I find lots of full size C zone, or 66% whole silhouette, but not what I'm looking for.

I purchased a couple several years back, but now can't find any. Looking for single hole hook hanger mount. I find this to be my perfect size for training purposes at various distances.

SOLD NX8 2.5-20 MilXT w. Mount

Had this on a 300Blk shooting subsonics. Sold the rifle so now want a Mk5 3.6-18 T3 to drop on my other Mk12 Mod1 upper to match the Mod0.

Will sell as a package with the ADM 30MOA mount and Vortex level for $1750 or $1600 without the mount and level.

Few pics below from its hosts.

Would trade for a non illuminated Mk5 3.6-18 Tremor 3 and C1 mount.

Source for Rim X Magazine

Looking for a reputable source for a Rim X magazine.

All the places online that seem reputable are out of stock.

Found a few others, but I've never heard of some of those places so looking for recommendations on a source.

For example

says they have them in stock. Anyone shop here? Not trying to bash anyone or any sites, just trying to "trust but verify".

Thanks

Papers Please! British Paratroopers Met by French Border Officials at D-Day Reenactment!

British paratroopers who led an historic reenactment to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day were met by French border officials immediately after they touched down Wednesday in a Normandy field.
The visitors reportedly were directed to quickly fold their parachutes and form an orderly queue. They then offered the requested documents and outlined the purpose of their visit to seated French passport control officials as directed, Reuters reports.
Around 320 British, Belgian and U.S. paratroopers took part in the multinational jump to recreate one of the defining the events of June 6, 1944.
“It is something we haven’t experienced before,” Brigadier Mark Berry, the British paratroopers’ commander, told the Sun newspaper.
“But given the royal welcome we have had from every other feature, it seems like a very small price to pay for coming to France,” he cheerily added.

British citizens no longer have the right to move freely within the European Union and face stricter immigration checks since Brexit.

(Unless you are an illegal alien!)
The British paratroopers – the bulk of whom were supplied by he British Army’s 16 Air Assault Brigade – exited three A400M military aircraft over Sannerville, mirroring the airdrop made eight decades earlier out of RAF Dakota aircraft.
Military aircraft from the U.S. and Belgium followed in formation, Reuters reports.

Early on June 6, 1944, thousands of Allied airborne forces parachuted into drop zones along the Normandy coast.
The paratroopers landed behind German lines, tasked with disrupting German defences, capturing strategic bridges and establishing defensive positions ahead of the five main beach assault waves.

UNGRATEFUL FROGS!

Backup generators - I've used them for decades. My take..

I live in rural NE Texas, and we experience power outages often. Some last for days. This year, we've been hammered by bad weather, and this last round is the 12th time I've been on generator power this year, and it's only the first of June. I've played the "generator game" for decades, starting off with one that I thought would be just good enough to keep me going, running the bare minimum appliances until the power came back on. This was torture, and a big mistake. I have a barn full of generators that I no longer use.

In my opinion, most people make bad decisions when it comes to buying a backup generator. They think small, and short run times. The truth is, here in Texas, you need one big enough to power your whole house, including air conditioning and heating. Trust me, your wife and kids won't take kindly to living like a cave man during a power outage when they find out there is something better. Just ballparking, but for a 2,000 sqft house with a family of four, you are talking at least a 12KW - 13KW running watt (not surge watt) generator. If you want to stay married and keep your kids from running away from home, don't think about anything smaller. I'm also assuming here that you have a VERY energy efficient house with all LED lights etc.

And, you want it fuel efficient enough to run all day on a tank of fuel. Also, you want one built to go extended run times. Most of these smaller camping or job site generators won't cut it, since they won't run very long under a load between fueling, and require oil changes every 50 hours. You're not powering a tent or a shade tree mechanics session. You are powering your house, and you may have to do it for many days.

Where propane/natural gas generators burn very clean, and propane stores forever, they are VERY inefficient. My brother found out the hard way this year in Houston when he lost power for six days. Those 5 gallon propane cylinders he used to power his 12KW dual-fuel generator only lasted about four hours. And, by day three, they were really hard to find. So much so, that he had to switch to gasoline after spending $800 on propane for three days and then not being able to find any refills. Under a SHTF scenario, natural gas might not be that much better. Here in Texas during the "big freeze" a few years ago, many people lost natural gas pressure!

Gasoline is much more fuel efficient. I've stored ethanol-free treated gas in large quantities for almost three years. However, diesel is the best. It's the most fuel efficient. Modern day diesel generators are incredibly fuel efficient, and this last round I was running on treated diesel that I had in storage over five years.

With the world like it is, and getting worse, you need to consider a properly-sized backup generator. Things like fuel, fuel storage, and fuel availability in case of a SHTF scenario should be seriously considered. I know some of you are saying: "Oh, but I can keep the fridge, TV and a few lights running with my 2 - 5K watt Brand X and 300 ft of extension cords.." I've been there and done that many times. It SUCKS!

It's not about "getting by." It's about keeping your family calm and comfortable during an emergency. If I had just bought what I have now instead of spending money on a barn full of "just getting by", I would be thousands of dollars ahead of the game. So, before you go plop down a roll of cash on that new rifle or bass boat, you might want to consider what could benefit you more in the long run. If you're curious, here's what I ended up with a few years ago (linked below), and I've never looked back. It sips fuel, hums along at 1800rpm instead of 3600rpm, and goes 500hrs between service intervals. When it's running, I can turn on anything in the house and never give it a second thought. I couldn't be happier.

Ohh, he had 13 other blue band buddies, that will probably get the same deal, playing cartel with him. I wonder how many in that department knew it was going on but kept their mouths shut. Muh paycheck, muh pension.

Firearms Impact 6br w/ Foundation

Looking to sell a rifle that I bought the pieces to with high wishes of going match shooting. Id just prefer to have something lighter and more hunting/all around oriented. I just don’t love PRS match shooting as much as I thought I would.

300rds on the barrel
Threaded 5/8”-24

APA gen 2 Fat Bastard stainless
Trigger is NOT included

Stock is a Foundation MG2 in coyote with an impact inlet. Bottom metal is KMW MK1, and a short arca rail is included. Additionally there are 10 weights in the forend held in by o-rings. Stock alone weighs around 7lbs.

Asking $2650

Supressor, optic, mount, bipod, mag, and trigger not included.

Only trades would be a nice steel barreled hunting/lighter weight rifle ~<8.5lbs on an origin action or a manners Lrh w/mini chassis. Mainly interested In 6.5 creed, 6 creed, or 6.5 prc

Howa super lite, the saga begins

So everywhere on the net it shows the 20" super lite with a pic rail, but I wanted a 16 1/4 which shows either not mounting at all or base/ring combo with a cheap ass Vortex. OK I shit can the Vortex and see if my scope w/ an IR laser attached will work, if not just order a rail. Assuming, made an ass out of me.

My scope w/ ir attached no work'y (spacing issue) call Howa to order a rail. Howa says none of those rifles come with a rail, really? photos all over the net show they do. Nope they are wrong, call Wayne in Or, he can make you one. Called Wayne, what did they say??? I have 2 20" super lites with rails on them that I am looking at right now. Call Howa back an convey Waynes comments, nope we do not & have never had rails on them. Ok fuck this shit I'll go a different route.

Started thru my junk, found a Weaver Rem 700 Long action base that the front holes are right, fits action well but rear holes way off,...But there is enough base left once I cut it to length to get a single screw in correctly. Checked it with Persian blue, OK this dog will hunt, so proceeded to fab & mount it up. Do to the weaver base having a relief cut in the center, the contact foot print in GTG.

Unscrewed the factory muzzle brake to install one I whittled out long ago, that I opened to 0.323 and it was so sloppy I grabbed the dial calipers. The major muzzle threads are 0.479 OK WTF is with this? That's about 0.017 - 0.019 less that I would like, so now have to custom fit some threads.

Bolt operates and sounds like sand paper on sand paper, so once another muzzle break is whittled out & fitted that gets attention next. The joys of a new gun. With the scope on, 3 down & 1 up she is 5lbs 12 oz ready to go bang, so far. Won't shoot her until I've done some polishing.

The joys of a new rifle, but to get something you have to give up something. Saving that much weight is a huge plus to me as the bulk of everything shot these days in the field is 250 yds an in, w/the bulk being 50yds & under.
