Humor for the day... new bedding technique

So took a rifle a part last night. I picked up a used Rem. 700 Varmint and will be rebuilding it. Got it for a really fair price. It hadn't been shot in years and I was told it was put away and sat in a gun cabinet because the owner couldn't get it to shoot. So I bought it. I'm going to rebarrel it anyways. While it was together.... there was like a elastic/rubber type substance coming out from the front of the action/stock area. I was guessing the guy used RTV silicone for bedding. So I took the gun a part and the previous owner used 4 pcs of black electrical tape to bed the front of the receiver / stock.

Of course the barrel is fouled horribly... copper on tops of the lands, carbon fouled and not to mention the crown is all hacked up and on top of all of that... the bore is also pitted.

And we wonder why at times the guns don't shoot!

P.S. I'll try uploading a pic later... it won't load right now for whatever reason.

SOLD FS/FT: Swarovski 115mm & 95mm BTX w/ all the fixin’s.

SOLD!

ETA: “Ding” photos plus others added below. Taken within the last 20 minutes.

So… as much as I absolutely LOVE my Big Ass Swaro BTX spotters, I get extremely little use out of them. Watching flies on IPSC plates at 1km is kinda cool, and being able to watch the actual projectile fly through the air is pretty special, but these guys are BIG, relative to a nice set of LRF spotting binos that fit neatly into your kit. Life’s full of trade-offs, I suppose.

Anywho, I’ll take more pix later, but I have one BTX eyepiece, the two objectives (95mm and 115mm), the 1.7x teleconverter, all items with Swaro Fitted Armor, and all original Swaro factory boxes for everything.

The 115mm took a spill on a tripod and dinged the front bell a smidge, but there was no damage and it got a clean bill of health from Swaro when I sent it in as a precaution.

Glass is pristine on everything, and all functions as it should.

These photos were taken by me through the right ocular on the BTX, handheld with my iPhone (Swaro on a tripod, of course). First is without the 1.7x TC, second is with the TC installed:

IMG_2555.jpeg

IMG_2574.jpeg

A couple of older photos of mine, shortly after I got the 115mm, comparing the two objectives.

IMG_2484.jpeg

Yeah… these are the absolute best spotters ever created by man. I’m eternally spoiled by the glass on these behemoths, and always slightly disappointed when looking through something inferior. The BTX eyepiece is just epic, and you’ll never want to use anything else. But lack of a reticle and LRF makes them less than ideal for gun fun, but DAMN! if you use them for anything else, you’ll never go back. Watching a pinecone with a wasp on it take up your entire FOV at 100+ yards, with color and sharpness that will make your eyes bleed, and a Bokeh that is so creamy and makes the subject POP is just something that has to be experienced. I have some buddies here who have looked through these, and they always walk away leaving a snail trail of saliva behind.

They’re pricey, for sure, but the regret of paying more fades quickly, while no one ever regreted buying the absolute best of anything.

The 95mm is perfect and the 115mm has the bell “ding” I mentioned earlier, so I’ll price them the same, assuming most interested buyers won’t want both objectives.

If you want BOTH 95/115mm Objectives, the BTX eyepiece, and ALL the fixin’s — 1.7x TC, Armor, etc — you can have it all for $4850 shipped (CONUS).

If you want just ONE objective, BTX, TC, Armor, $3600 shipped.

I will also sell the remaining objective AFTER the BTX/whatever is sold for $1350 shipped.

I’ll update with current photos of everything within the next 24-ish hours (my life is filled with squirrel distractions).

Rifle Scopes New NF Turret?

Just a couple small observations in some recent photos. Looks like a 4-16 style turret on a 7-35 ATACR? Unless I’ve been oblivious, I’ve never seen them before and my guess would be .gov stuff? Thought it was interesting. I like the locking turret of the 4-16 and would be cool to see it available on the 7-35.

Physical Fitness Joint Pain

The last few years I trained mostly for endurance: Lighter weight for more reps and lots of cardio (jogging, rucking, boxing etc).

This year (about to turn 50) I decided to start doing heavier weights and my joints are freaking aching constantly. How are you fellas avoiding joint pain?

I have a Remington 700 varmint/tactical/heavy barrel/bull barrel chambered in 223. I am not sure what remington called this model. It has the hogue stock(tactical)? It has a heavy contour barrel 26 inch (varmint)? The rifle does not appear to have been fired much(bolt face shows little wear). It has a Trigger Tech primary trigger $175.00 on trigger tech website installed.I took this rifle in trade a while back and have never done anything with it. The condition of the rifle is used and shows normal use and wear. I tried to show any wear or use in the limited photos allowed. I am open to possible trades or am asking $850.00

Want to see an epic smackdown of a Soros county prosecutor?

Well then, watch this press conference. Backstory: This is the same county full of commie faggots that prosecuted and convicted the officers that watched St. Floyd OD on fentanyl. This Soros prosecutor charged a state trooper who shot and killed a thug dragging his partner while fleeing. The officer is a hero that did the world a favor but was instead turned into the victim of a commie witch hunt.

Their case fell apart so fucking fast that they tried pulling in big lawyers from DC and eventually dropped the case. This press conference is the trooper's attorney calling out the lying commie and it's a great watch.

Firearms Knights Armament SR15 Mod 2 unfired

I have decided to sell my Knights SR15 Mod 2. I was going to take it for consignment on Thursday but figured I would offer it here first. I purchased this gun new from Chuck at Kelly Enterprises in Florida roughly around late 2019/ early 2020. It has been kept in the safe and is unfired. Everything you see is included. The hard case is the original Knights hard case for the Rifle. The only modification is the M.A.M.S Muzzle brake, the factory 3 prong is included. There is a slight scuff under the Magpul rail covers from a Handstop install.
After speaking with my gun shop, they felt the value fell around $4000 and that is what I would like to get for it +shipping. I will accept check [with proper clearing time] money order or PayPal FF. I will ship the rifle to what ever FFL you choose, though I may need a day or two to source or build a proper box. I am located in the Cornwall PA area and will meet PA residents within a reasonable distance. If you would like to do a FaceTime call to go over the Rifle, I would be happy to accommodate.

So did he know something, or did they think he was a great guy ? Or just approve of the behavior?

This makes 1,231 similar stories I have archived since 2014. So common they don’t make the news , I don’t see them all .
I wonder every time - What’s the motivation to release these child fuckers ?
Are they useful - do they know things or perhaps know people or do corrections workers / administrators just like the work they do ?

Seekins Havak Hit

Looking at getting a new bolt gun and came across the Havak Hit. It seems from reading reviews it is fantastic and the barrel swap seems effortless/genius.

Makes sense to get the 6.5CM for long range fun smacking steel and then buying the .223 Wylde barrel to hunt coyotes.

What are the Cons to the Seekins Havak Hit? Right now I am not really seeing one but would like to get some real life thoughts from people that have them. Thanks!

Night Vision Excelitas Thermal Optics!

DRT is excited to announce we are bringing a new brand to the US commercial market. UK based Excelitas/QIOPTIQ is a big player in the European/NATO defense arena. I first met them several yrs back at a border security expo. They had very nice products but unfortunately at the time they were not wanting or willing to enter the commercial space. Last yr I reached back out to my contact at Excelitas to chat about their submission for the new miniature thermal for SOCOM. Fortunately, they were also open to discussing the opportunity for DRT to start distributing their product line to US Law Enforcement and commercial end users. After months/yrs of getting this train moving we are finally there. We have an order placed that should be delivered in 4th quarter. We will have limited supply as they have multiple contracts that are rolling on these different products. We will be taking small deposits on these units similar to what we've done in the past with other units(x-elr etc)

1. Excelitas Dragon-C12XR
I'm probably most excited about this one personally. The size/performance ratio on this guy is outstanding. Fits in my hand but with an 8 degree fov it can easily take 10+ mag. It doubles at a stand alone optic (1280 amoled display in Stand alone mode). It has mil based reticle that scales with magnification. Full color display with outline modes(colored). 50 cal rated. Small enough lens that it has and inline (non folded optical bench) which helps reduce image shift. Stand alone mode has an optional PIP mode which is not common on mil sights. Utilizes the new BOSON PLUS core from FLIR. Has IBEAM protocol so will be able to link with LRFs. Can be ordered with the standard Larue mount or an optional locking Flip Mount....both of which are 1.54 Height mounts. Weighs 19.2 ounces with batteries. We ordered our units in FDE Cerakote. (the lighter one in the pics was rattle canned). These will come in at a $13,499 price point with the standard fixed Larue mount. This is the ultimate balance of small size/weight and performance. It is taylor made for a LPVO setup and small framed LR guns like a 6ARC gas gun.

2. TALON II Fused weapon sight

This sight packs a bunch of tech into a small footprint. Its only 5.5 inches long and 20 ounces. It is fixed focus on both channels and it was designed around 1-6x optics. The thermal is considered an aid to the Image intensifier. It is a 320 FLIR BOSON plus sensor so that the FOV is matched to the 16mm high fom 4G photonis I2 and so the lenses remain small. It will operate in NV or thermal only modes but it is best used as a fusion sight. I'd say considering the small optics it is a 400 meter or less device. It is like an ADUNS for a carbine. At $22,750 its not inexpensive but its closest competition is the $60k FLIR ADUNS. We have a few of these arriving in Sept. These are a program of record with several EU Mil customers. Taking Deposits.

Hey everyone! I recently picked up a CZ 600 Range and it had only 50 rounds through it at the time of the test….. load charges are written on target…. Target was shot at 200y.
I’m looking at opinions on what looks like a solid contender, the more peoples opinions, the more insight, the less chance of me over looking something ….

Who had giant invasive venomous flying spiders for June????

Four inch leg, orb-weaving killer spiders invading New Jersey!

Personally, I am kind of pleased. A. It’s New Jersey. They deserve a spider invasion. And B. I have wanted to buy a flame thrower for a while and this will let me write it off for farm pest control.

So… winning!
