Angle finder?

How do you find your inclination when calculating range? I have been looking for something simple that can be mounted to the scope or rifle but either coming up empty or getting results for things that seem wildly over priced for what they are ($200+), so far the best option I have found is also the clunkiest, an app on my phone that measures the angle the phone is at, basically I would have to lay the phone sideways along the barrel like a carpenters level and then take note of the angle.

It seems like there should be a simple low tech and low cost solution, that is not so clunky and cumbersome. What do you do?

I did see one option, a ball level thing that attaches to the scope but the only place I found one affordable only carries it in 30mm, everywhere else has it for $200+.

Forster dies, how much to hone out?

Hey all,

I'm a fairly new reloader. I want to buy forster dies since they offer the honing for their dies, for an additional price of course.

I tried calling 3 times already to see if I could speak to someone who could help me determine how much would be best. Every time no one is available so the lady takes my name and number so someone can reach back out soon. They never ever call back. It's been over 3 weeks since the first time I called.

So can anybody give me some guidance? How much does their expander ball open the neck ID out to? And after measuring one of my loaded rounds for neck OD, what should be a good spec to use for the honing? I figured if someone wants to help me here, I can just place my order online without having to go through their people.

I figured if their expander ball is 1.5 thousands below bullet OD, I should use my loaded neck OD - the 1.5 - another 1 or 1.5 thou???

Or...
Is it even worth it going with their dies given their lack of CS? Can anybody recommend something that's just as good for the money?

The set I'm looking at is below.

Thanks,

Serg

UK Police Commissioner wants round 3 with US Citizenry

UK police commissioner Sir Mark Rowley thinks he's coming to get US citizens for their online posts. The conservative US citizens invite you to come get some sir! We can give you a much better welcome than our ancestors! 100% of US military aid that goes to defend the UK and maybe the EU needs to be stopped until they clarify!
Corrected to round 3 as I was reminded of 1812.

Petition Unkle Sam to stop paying the Talley Ban

Are you guys aware that 40 to 80 million dollars a week go to fund the Taliban? Did you know that their leaders are in fact Al Queda?

Please sign the petition to tell you drunk uncle to lay off the sauce.

My dream for DI Precision coming to fruition

I generally don't pat myself on the back but this was too good to not say anything and my guys deserve some praise for thier hard work in helping me to achieve my dreams.

As posted on FB,

"Never give up on your dreams. When God puts an Idea in your head don't walk with it, RUN with it, He's telling you I got this, have faith and go for it. After 20 years in the diesel performance business, the EPA came in and shut me down and I thought wow, now what do I do? Long story short I had this idea of building precision .22s in late 2018 after experiencing a Vudoo .22 Rimfire barreled action. Mind you, I did not know anything about this other than I thought I knew how to shoot. Fast forward to August 23 and one of our rifles tied for 1st place at the World Championships in Italy. We have been designated as the official Rimfire builder/Gunsmith for both the NRL22 and the Precision Rifle Series(rimfire). To add icing on the cake, we were just appointed as an exclusive authorized Vudoo Gun Works custom shop. I am truly humbled and grateful and have to give credit to my guys for their hard work and dedication. It takes a team to pull something like this off in such a short time.
Derek Webster Samantha Lott Coffey Dustin Williams, Blake Rosson, Chase Stroud, my wife Amanda Lott for putting up with the late nights. There have been many more that have contributed and I thank you.

Best out the box production/factory bolt rifle around nowadays

Thinking of getting a SA most likely 6.5 CM rifle. I don’t want to go the custom route this time around. Just want something to take out the box and go. Anything goes budget not an issue but let’s say below 6k. Would not like to spend that much unless it makes sense.

I know the AT-X and XC are out there, Cadex R7, Sako (maybe) and so on but not opposed to other budget friendlier options either like the Havak for example. Just looking for options and opinions.

Magazine Gripe

So I get a fair number of Aero lowers in both M4 and M5 and then discover almost all my Magpul mags will often not just drop out when the release is pressed. I have to pull them out. The M4's are far more egregious about doing this. Browning sells a metal mag that works just fine but will rust potentially and I have no feel for which material is better. Metal or plastic. So I have a Lancer 308 mag that really is nice and fits and drops out and does not rattle around and make noise. I get their M4 mag thinking it will solve my problems but this thing flops around in the mag well with a rattle and clatter that is unbelievable. I am sure the critters would love this early warning clatter as sneaking through the woods with these is nearly impossible. In an ISO 9000 world does anyone bother to do more then get the cert which they then ignore?

Any mag recommendations?

Modacam Custom Rifles ModX has landed.

I received my RimX action back from @jelrod1 yesterday. I had enough time after work and life to get it all mounted up, cleaned and barricade zero checked. I had to order a new scope base from Zermatt as the 30 I have is too much. I need 20moa. I have 20 in the scope mount and 20 in the base will get it 1 mil from bottomed out.

With Lapua Long Range and my lot tested Midas it is 1 hole at 50y for a barricade drill. Johnathan has over 500 rounds down the tube and I had enough time to put 60 on it last night. More testing to come in the next few weeks.

SOLD Barrett 416 M82A1 w/1500 rounds

Roughly 50 rounds through it. Comes equipped with a Leupold Mark 4 LR/T 4.5-14x50mm with M1 knobs and a Mildot reticle. As you can see it also has the Barrett BORS system installed. Now, don't hold it against me I moved to TX from CA. The last few pictures you can see I had to perform "surgery" to remove the bullet button shoe. Some lovely individual decided a roll pin was not enough to hold the shoe in and tack welded as well. So there a few marks from me cutting it out. Function checks fine and mag release works perfectly.

I also do not have pictures of the 1500 rounds but placed a little table of what I have below. Also, have some brass which is included in the sale. I will post some pictures of the ammo lot in the next day or so.

Would prefer a F2F in the DFW area or we can discuss rolling the shipping costs into the sale price. Asking $8500

SOLD White Oak Armament (WOA) 18 inch 3 Gun Competition/SPR Upper- Reduced to $400.00!

White Oak Armament (WOA) 18 inch 3 Gun Competition/SPR Upper.

MK 2.5, 18 inch, 8 twist, .223 Wylde, WOA barrel with 14.6 inch WOA TR M-Lok handguard and mil spec upper. Assembled and test fired by WOA (test target included).

Features a sweet shooting intermediate gas system. See: https://www.whiteoakarmament.com/3-gun-uppers.html for more info. This upper is great for 3 gun or other competition, but also makes an awesome SPR or general precision rifle upper.

The barrel weighs 2.5 pounds and WOA calls it a "medium profile". The complete upper weighs 5 pounds. It has been 100% reliable and sub-MOA in the short time I used it. As always, YMMV.

Like new with approximately 200 rounds down the tube. In original WOA box with paperwork and extras- including a $50.00 WOA barrel nut tool. Does not include bolt/carrier and charging handle.

WOA barrels sell for around $300.00 alone. The complete upper is yours for only $400.00 shipped. PayPal F&F, Venmo, or Zelle accepted. Sales to lower 48 U.S. only. Sorry no trades.

LMT MWS Accuracy Expectations in 2024

I’ve been reading a lot of threads but many are from 2012-2014 it seems

Let’s talk accuracy from your LMT MWS setups. 6.5/260/308

I’m putting together a MWS and have a 16” CL barrel I picked up from the px on the way. Will run hunting ammo in hopes of under 2 MOA accuracy but will be looking for another barrel 18-22” range in 308 for it

Share your setups and accuracy

CL and SS also looking into custom from D. Wilson

I’ll send pictures to interested party or post later if I can get them to upload. The items have all papers and extras they are shipped with.
