Optics Gen 3 Razor 6-36 w/ ARC M-Brace

Looking to move my Razor Gen III 6-36 Mil scope sitting in an Arc M-Brace (34mm,1.50in, 30MOA) mount, and Vortex throw lever. I bought this to use as a backup, but it’d just been sitting unused ever since. Was mounted and shot 20 rounds through the rifle when I first got it, otherwise in Like New condition. Comes with the scope box.

Recommendation request for shocks on my pick up truck

I know this is a little ways away from twist rate, caliber, etc but I would appreciate any guidance on replacement shocks for a 2006 Dodge 3500 dually.

The last two sets I have purchased haven't lasted more than30-40k miles and that seems low to me. One set was what a dealer put on and the other was an "oem" style shock from one of the local parts stores.

The truck gets used pulling trailers and getting loaded down with all sorts of stuff in the bed so its not a princess. I dont need a plush ride so something on the more capable side would be better. There is one of those big steel "deer catcher" bumpers on the front which adds a lot of weight.

Thoughts?

A small rant on shit all breaking at once

Like I said a rant of shit breaking all at once in the spring on a small farm.

Chainsaw -broken
Tiller- broken
Weed whips as in plural- broken
Tractor- broken
Mower- broken
Power washer - broken

Some of this shit is close to the end of service life , I do t think any of the stuff is that serious, it’ll just take time and money to figure it all out and fix it . Time is short now and money is never what it should be.
Shit just don’t last like it should used to or like it should .
Fuck Shit Damn
Rant over - for now .

Check Yourself

I don't normally post public service announcements. But this is an easy fix.

In the what are you listening to thread, I posted a song from Firehouse. The singer, 64 year old CJ Snare, passed away recently. The lady of his love of a lifetime revealed that he had been struggling with a Stage 4 colon cancer. No doubt, he was always working and wouldn't take the time to get himself checked. Seriously, Firehouse is always working and will play anywhere at anytime.

Colon cancer is the most easily detectable and preventable of the cancers. Because of my age, (I just turned 60) my doctor had me do a colonoscopy for a colon cancer study he was doing and my age made me a profile fit. And it was covered by my insurance. First, I did the cologuard, shipping shit through the mail. Then the procedure. They found 4 polyps, all benign and removed them.

When I had woken up in my day room, the doctor brought me water and coffee and asked me if I had any questions.

I asked, "Did you find Jimmy Hoffa?"

Without batting an eye or even a snicker, he said, "No, we did not."

Guys, get yourself checked. It does not have to end like this.

And get with your doctor about having your PSA tested. Prostate cancer no longer relies on the finger test. Why check? My wife's favorite singer, Dan Fogelberg, passed away in his 50s from prostate cancer. Again, always working, not getting himself checked.

Reticle canted?

Leveled rifle, used a Fix_It Stix scope jack to make scope parallel to rifle. Hung a plumb bob and reticle is canted to left using the flashlight method. Used my Send-It level to double check rifle level and bottom of scope. All was good. But reticle still canted anything I may have missed?
Gun is a never shot Ruger Precision Rifle and the scope is a Athlon Cronus with Burris XTR rings.

Chris Costa

Please educate me.

In various Hide threads on so-called tactical lever action rifles ("cowboy tactical"), I've seen negative comments about Mr. Costa. I'm an old guy, old enough to have trained with Jeff Cooper when Gunsite was nought but a couple of prefab buildings, and the Sconce not even a gleam in his eye. There are many legitimate teachers, younger than I, whom I don't know.

Anyway, most of the stuff I think I know about Mr. Costa comes from when he was with MagPul in Colorado, when he had what I took to be a favorable reputation. I know that he was absent from the scene for a while, perhaps mysteriously, and that he's now emerged again into the ambit of training and firearms use expertise. I see that he likes leverguns, that in Dallas he's done at least one how-to-run-a-lever-action-in-a-fight class, that he espouses some techniques with such long guns that I've not seen elsewhere but seem reasonable, and that he's endorsing some of Ranger Point Precision's levergun parts and accessories...or that they've made stuff to his specs.

Whence cometh the dislike? I don't care about Mr. Costas one way or another particularly. But I'm interested in training and trainers, having known and been taught by some of the old masters. I'm always ready to learn. So...what's what, gentlemen?

Cheers and salaams,

dk

Kinda interesting- LA riots - Iran contra, crack/ gang wars

Says guns came often from police even military.
Drugs often can from DEA .

Very interesting that after being involved in armed robberies; drive by shootings and drug dealing he went to be a correctional officer and then a street cop- and then back to the gang life .

I can picture the conversation in the halls of power.

The Democrats-“ there’s this very large well organized gang in LA, we could make a buck and hasten the fall of the republic by giving them guns and drugs .

The Republicans -“ only if we can send them to prison after we are done using them.”

Motion passed unanimously!

SOLD SPF WTS Accuracy International AT308 2019 production

Looking to sell my AT308 I got from Mile High. I'm the original owner, it's sat in the safe a few years. 200 rounds FGGM down the tube. Excellent shape. What you see is what you get. Bore guide, pistol grip and thumbhole stock, papers....

Originally came with the pistol grip stock. I took it off and put a Thumbhole "upgrade" in FDE on it, that I rattle canned green - hence the non-color match.

$4000 shipped and insured for everything you see to your FFL via UPS.

More evidence with Planet 'X'

Of course language has evolved over time but for some unknown reason, the 'X' moniker is aparently now offensive to some groups so the hunt is now referred to as Planet '9'. Kinda resembles a hostile takeover for another planet now that the smart folks said Pluto isn't a planet but maybe there's another one part of our solar system? Regardless, thought this story may be of interest to some here...
