Wisk’s journey began as a joint venture between Boeing and Kitty Hawk Corp before becoming a fully-owned subsidiary of Boeing last year. BWA HA HA HA HA HA...

I was having a conversation with someone today about 300Blk and the conversation went to the distance a 300 Blackout could shoot effectively. The person I was talking to said beyond 300 yards they were useless. I have 5 different 300 Blackouts (building a 6th) and I have them setup for doing different things. Subs, Supers, Thermal setup for night shooting, scoped setup for day, etc. However I dont have one setup for distance. I shoot 6.5 Creedmoor, 308 and even 223 to distance.

So the question is really just a curiosity, Im not saying this is a good idea. Although its possibly not a terrible idea. What if someone built a 300Blk AR15 from the ground up where the primary purpose was to shoot distance with supers. I realize if I say effectively that would be subjective but I dont mean artillery shots. I mean how far can 300Blk shoot and stay supersonic? All adjustment done via dialing the scope (say around 60 MOAish max) not maxing the hold of the reticle and then dialing too. You might even take it hunting so whatever the distance is it still needs enough energy to kill a deer sized animal at this distance.
What Barrel length would be used? Twist rate? What bullet would be used? What powder, brass, primer? What brands of parts for the gun itself if you think that matters? How would you do it?

How far to you think the "optimal" setup could shoot effectively?

I have looked at ballistics and I have a guess but I wanted to post here and see what other think. I might even take one of my 300Blackouts, modify it a bit and give this a try just for the fun of it.

I personally found the chamberings interesting, the possibility of a carbon wrapped barrel, required folding stock, and the requirement of a Tbac can should make people here feel warm and fuzzy

Quick TLDR is ...

-Commercially available in serial production

-Must be quick change barrel (no barrel vice)

- Camberings and barrels for 300WM 26", 300PRC 27", 300NM 27", and .308 24"

-*Offered* as Left or right hand

-No heavier than 16lbs empty with no accessories

22 JUL 2024- Ms. Kimberly Cheatle testifies under subpoena from Congress to answer questions regarding the Secret Service's performance on 13JUL. Breaking from the usual decorum of said Congressional hearings, she is subjected to multiple representatives of the committee using profane language and demanding her resignation if not calling for being formally dismissed from the position. Ms. Cheatle also deliberately and obviously obfuscated answering questions from the committee.

Help me fill in the blanks for the timeline here... from what I can tell we have the following-

*The excuse that SS agents weren't deployed on the roof of the 'almost' assassin, because it was 'sloped'. Furthermore, it was determined later that the counter snipers were deployed on other roofs with a steeper grade in slope.

*It came out shortly afterwards that bystanders not only reported the 'almost' assassin being on said roof, reported it to police, filmed it, and came out later that it occurred for more than 2 minutes. Also the counter sniper SS folks had the person observed at some point during this exchange.

*We're being told that the security detail that was supposed to be patrolling that building (at least as of today) decided to 'beat the heat' and stay inside instead'.

*AOC of all people, I'm guessing on Monday, even asked why the security perimeter didn't exceed the range of such a common rifle as was used in the assassination attempt.

*Somewhere prior to 13JUL and the previous disastrous debate that was televised, standing POTUS, Mr. Joseph Biden, he was swept away from the public eye due to coming down with COVID. Between this timeframe, numerous celebrities that have been longtime Democrat supporters called for Mr. Biden to bow out of the campaign.

*We had a moment of 'back and forth' of who the shooter was and (a comment I was previously going to share) after about 48 hours we finally got the name shared to include the Middle name. There was also a blip of associations with the shooter and BlackRock but think that's been quieted down since this weekend.

*Almost overnight, the standing VP, Ms. Kamala Harris, secured the Democrat nomination without any primary elections or due process AND broke all records raising over $81 Million dollars seemingly overnight shattering all previous records despite being one of the most UNpopular politicians in recent history.

I'm sure I missed plenty but seeing if the Hide has anything to add to bring some more polish to this most recent timeline I'd appreciate it. How does one BREAK a scope ring/scope mount without destroying the optic?

I see in another forum where they are talking about a certain brand of scope mounts breaking. I have shot some pretty serious rifles, with scope mounts that cost less than the 300-500 dollars these mounts cost without ever having the slightest bit of a problem. So, the question is, how does one break a mount without destroying the optic and other parts of the rifle?
