One of the 2nd amendments blood enemies actually gets it, or says she does

Tulsi Gabbard has in the past been one of our true enemies in the 2nd Amendment community, during her stint in congress she was an outright opponent and simply a gun grabber. Now she’s actually one of the few supporters that will actually say out loud what the one of the 2nd amendment’s purpose really is, to defend the people against the government if need be. I’m obviously suspect about such a 180, but she seems to be positioning herself to be Trump’s running mate. Her logic on why she had this revelation is sound, if the last 4 years didn’t show you the threat of government tyranny nothing short of tanks rolling down the street will. I’ve always been on board with allot of her views, now that the most important one to me is checked I think I’m ok with her being Trump’s pick, and considering she’s a natural fighter and very likable it could prove to be a wise choice. I am hoping it is a true conversion and not just positioning, but considering her long history of government distrust I’m hopeful, besides it’s a definite plus Hillary Clinton hates her with the power of a thousand suns.

Dovetail to Picatinny base

I just recently picked up a Rossi Gallery pump .22lr. I can't get it to shoot better that 5 1/2" high with the factory Buckhorn sight. I was only shooting at 25 yards. It has the rimfire dovetail groove on top of the receiver. Rossi makes a plastic picatinny base that will fit it but I would rather get a metal base over the plastic. Does anyone know of a metal dovetail to picatinny base for a rimfire rifle?

Question about 13.9in vs 14.5in

Regarding ARs, when otherwise identical carbines in 13.9in and 14.5in are pinned and welded to meet the 16in minimum, does that mean the difference is only in the length of the muzzle device installed? And if that's the case, what's the benefit, other than the 13.9in model possibly offering .6in shorter overall rifle length with a suppressor attached (when compared to the 14.5in with same suppressor)? thanks

ETA: I realize the 14.5in will offer a bit more velocity.

Why is my lapua 223 brass not chambering and sizing?

Ok, so I just had this 223 wylde built and running into issues with lapua brass. I e always taken virgin case measurements before loading, and then fired measurements. I didn't have a problem with the starline brass, but noticed it closed pretty tight to begin with. With the virgin lapua, it's .002"-.003" longer than starline, and it chambers, but it's very tight and you can feel its just to tight, and too long and it's fucking my case heads up, obviously because I'm trying to cram it into a smaller chamber than what the case is...I've never ran into this issue before.

The guy who built my rifle said he cuts chambers tight, like the bolt just barely closes on a go/no gauge. OK fine, it's whatever but when it's so tight that new lapua brass won't even chamber without messing case heads up, I think that's a problem, no? He told me just to size the virgin lapua cases down a couple few thousands and all would be good. I've never heard a such a thing. But tonight I tried just that and this is where I'm having issues.

I sat here for 2 hours trying to size this new lapua brass down to 3.614" on my comparator. My RCBS dies are only setting them back to 3.616" which is still .001" longer than the chamber. It is sizing the starline down to 3.614" to where it chamber nice and tight, but it won't size then down any further than that. It's like my die is only sizing each fired and new case .001" and thats it, no matter how far I screw it down.

Reason my measurements are also so long is because I'm not using digital calipers a d able to zero out, so the comparator measures 2.160" at zero basically on my dial calipers.

I've screwed my die so far down now to the point where it's so cammed over I can't go anymore and the damn case still comes out at 3.616"...

Does anyone know what the hell my issue is here? I'm already over this for the night. Ready to throw rifle and brass out the window...

Here's all my measurements for the guys who care to know and maybe see what the issue is.

These RCBS FL dies have worked fine and sized other brass in other 223 rifles with zero issues. I literally have no idea what the issue could be.

Do I need the chamber cut few thousands deeper, new dies, or what? Super frustrated at this point and it's to late to call the smith, and he has a match tomorrow, so I won't even be able to get ahold of him until tomorrow evening. There goes my plans of shooting tomorrow also...

Trudeau’s Canada: Canadian Police Advise Leaving Car Keys in Front Door to Deter Break-Ins and Minimize Conflict with Thieves.

Toronto-Police-Service-TPS-Constable-Marco-Ricciardi-scaled.jpg
Toronto Police Service (TPS) Constable Marco Ricciardi
In the face of an alarming rise in car thefts, Toronto Police Service (TPS) Constable Marco Ricciardi has offered a controversial tip to residents: leave car keys in the front door to avoid violent home invasions.

During a community safety meeting in Etobicoke, Constable Ricciardi addressed the issue, stating, “To prevent the possibility of being attacked in your home, leave your fobs at your front door because they’re breaking into your home to steal your car. They don’t want anything else.”

In short, don’t make it hard for thieves to steal your car. This is what an unarmed society looks like.

This suggestion has come as Toronto grapples with a car theft rate that sees a vehicle stolen every six minutes, a costly crime spree racking up nearly $1 billion annually, according to the Canadian Finance and Leasing Association (CFLA).

Toronto has witnessed a 400% surge in home invasions and break-ins for auto thefts, underscoring a troubling trend of increased violence and the use of firearms by criminals targeting vehicles, Global News reported.

Toronto Police Service released the following statement:

An officer at a recent community meeting suggested that people leave the keys to their vehicle in a faraday bag by the front door. While well meaning, there are also other ways to prevent auto theft motivated home invasions. For additional context, in Toronto, home invasions and break and enters for auto theft occurrences rose 400 percent in 2023. Police are concerned about an escalation in violence, where all sorts of weapons and firearms are being used to steal vehicles, and that includes during home invasions. While Toronto Police have always advised the public to prioritize your safety over your vehicle, here are ways members of the public can protect themselves, their homes and their vehicles:
  • Park vehicles in garage, if possible
  • Ensure your driveway is well lit and keep exterior lights on all night
  • Security cameras are an asset
  • If possible, install a home security system – activate alarm on STAY when home and AWAY when out
  • Consider having a motion detection alarm connected to your cell phone
  • Put security film on glass windows and doors
  • Have multipoint door locks on your doors
  • Keep backyard gates locked and ground windows secured
  • Do not post on social media when you will be away on holiday
  • Report suspicious vehicles/persons in the neighbourhood to police

The TPS’s advice to leave keys in a faraday bag by the front door, which can prevent the keys from being remotely accessed by thieves, has indeed sparked debate.

Former litigator, Viva Frei on X wrote, “Welcome to Justin Trudeau’s Canada. Where guns are illegal. Except criminals have them, and you don’t. And the police are imploring you to leave your keys at the front door so armed criminals can steal your cars, and hopefully spare your life. It’s been a while since I’ve said it, but FUCK YOU Justin Trudeau!”

YEAH, WE DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO LEAVE THE DONUT SHOP! IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!!

McMillan surface blem: Self-Induced or QC issue?

Hey there Hide,

So I recently impulse-purchased a McMillan A4 from their Ready-to-Ship section, knowing full well that I wasn't suuuper convinced by the transition paintjob it came in - but it had all the features I wanted in the inlet I wanted, so I figured what's the harm.

Once it showed up, my suspicion was confirmed and I didn't waste any time dropping it off with my local cerakote shop to give it a classic green makeover.

When I picked the stock back up, I noticed some pretty egregious surface blemishes that I hadn't noticed when the stock first showed up (see pictures).

My question for you:

Is there some sort of incompatibility between the Cerakote process and McMillan fibreglass stocks that I wasn't aware of and I did this to myself, or was there a QC issue with the stock that I didn't see when I received it?

If I don't want to ship it back to McMillan to fix, how would you recommend going about fixing the blemishes, if at all?

Mike Pence

I never liked the guy and never could understand why Trump picked him. They seemed complete opposites and he is definitely not MAGA. He had an opportunity to throw a wrench in that piece of shit Biden's certification, but he didn't have the courage to do so. He has some romanticized vision of the Constitution and his role. What he failed to realize is that Democrats are not "the loyal opposition" like 30+ years ago. They are an enemy that literally seeks to destroy everything that made this country great. We are literally in a fight for civilization against this enemy. He should have joined with Trump and done everything possible to make sure Biden didn't succeed in stealing the election. Instead his own vanity and cowardice prevented him from acting. Let's hope Trump chooses wisely this time when he picks his VP.

Blowing it out of proportion: Magnification levels and performance.

Introduction

Rifle enthusiasts are always excited to show off their equipment. I am right there with the pack. Nice barrel, nice stock or chassis, and a cool new optic with many magnification levels. Who doesn’t want to appreciate them, and there’s nothing wrong with that. How do you figure out application zone, and use case performance zones, for these systems? I don’t subscribe to one rifle rules them all, even though it would be cool. Magnification levels make a difference for many shooters. If you havent tested your shooting at different magnification levels you might be missing more than you realize.

Supreme Court of Canada Rules a Female Assault Victim Should be Referred to “Person with Vagina” and not as “Woman”

In a recent sexual assault case, The Supreme Court of Canada ruled it was “problematic” for a lower court judge to refer to the alleged victim as a “woman,” implying that the term that should have been used is “person with a vagina.”
Justice Sheilah Martin, nominated to the Court by woke champion Justin Trudeau in 2017, wrote in a decision published Friday that a trial judge’s use of the word “a woman” may “have been unfortunate and engendered confusion.”
According to The National Post, the involves a sexual assault allegation made by a woman against Charles Kruk. The victim alleges she was intoxicated and lost when Kruk took home with him in 2017 to call her family for help.
She passed out, and when she woke up, her pants were off, and Kruk was assaulting her.
National Post reports:
Martin does not specify why the word “woman” is confusing, but the next passage in her decision refers to the complainant as a “person with a vagina.” Notably, not one person in the entire case is identified as transgender, and the complainant is referred to throughout as a “she.”
The case was R. v. Kruk, which involved a 2017 charge of sexual assault against then 34-year-old Maple Ridge, B.C., man Charles Kruk.

INSANE. During a trial for a s*xual ass*ult case, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that a female victim shouldn’t be referred to as a “woman”, rather a “person with a v*gina.”https://t.co/HCN44bspF3 https://t.co/bU9CGglocW

The more I laugh about this the more I like it! Now every soi boi that wants to identify as a woman can't because he doesn't have a vagina. Problem solved!
