Cooling System

I've been using this Coleman pump for just over a year to cool my rifles and do groupings. Well it finally wore out on me. Anyone on here have a good cooling system they could share that'll last and maybe cool a bit better? I don't need it to be portable as I have plugs right above my stalls. I'm thinking of investing in a mini ac and funneling the air through a tube. I'm going through 300rds of .338 Lapua within 2 hours for context.

Bad Hornady ammo 300PRC, 1/2 MOA to 6 MOA based on lot number.

If anyone has insight it would be appreciated! I'm hoping this is the appropriate forum, reloaders would know more about this than anyone.

I bought 1200 rounds of Hornady factory 300PRC 225ELDM with the plan to shoot it over the next couple years and then reload those casings to as long as possible.

I went through 200 rounds of factory Hornady 300 PRC 225 ELDM and got sub MOA accuracy, immediately upon switching to a new lot number the group at 100yds is about 6 MOA. Switching to the old lot I'm getting sub MOA again. It's definitely the ammo(manufacturer checked the gun because that was my first thought). Hornady said they won't do anything about the ammo because the lot number meets there "minimum requirements" when it was tested and "every lot number is different so it's just the luck of the draw, you should have shot it before you bought that lot number". The really interesting thing is that the carbon marks around the casing neck are completely different. The good lot number has very minimal carbon at the base of the neck. The bad lot has a very dark carbon wavy pattern that goes all the way around. After checking all my lot numbers I have 500rds of this lot and another 200 from a different lot with the same wavy carbon marks and that group 4-6MOA in random directions at 100yds. Any insight on a solution or how to deal with Hornady would be much appreciated. If it's a brass issue I'm assuming I wouldn't want to reload these casings either.

New York State Glock Bill

NY Bill to actually ban the sales of Glock handguns most likely to pass and be signed by the governor. They blame Glock for being relativity easy to mount the clock switch to it. What is unknown if the state will confiscate existing glock handguns from registered owners. Those who purchased on the street are safe from confiscation this time around, smart move on your part.

Let me tell ya about Shoot Straight/Florida...Beware, long rant...

Been on these forums for many years...first time ragging in the Bear Pit- but I'm pissed, and I know there's a lot of current and former US military that might care about who to support with their business- or not.

My son's a USAF pilot currently stationed in the midwest, just came home to visit in FL for a couple of weeks on leave.
In addition to all his other modern rifles, he's building a nice milsurp collection. We always do some shooting and fishing when he gets back home, and he had an eye for a WWII Mosin PU sniper and bought a nice one from an online dealer last week before leaving- and had it shipped to a local Shoot Straight here as he'd called them in advance to confirm they accepted transfers.

Picked him up at the airport last night, and this afternoon we drove down to pick up his rifle. Gave them his military ID and his new temporary DL as he just bought a home there and surrendered his FL DL- the temp DL is paper- but issued by the state, with photo, and is 100% legal, government-issued ID.

"Nope, sorry- can't do the transfer". We can't accept this temporary driver's license".

Now, I just surrendered my 07 FFL last month after 8 years due to moving and not having a new premises yet. Didn't do many transfers as a smith, but I know the rules of the game.

I said "What's the problem? His military ID is perfectly acceptable."
"We can't photocopy his military ID, and we can't accept his temporary DL"

Now, I'm trying to keep a cool head, which wasn't getting any easier. But knowing that an FFL can refuse to do a transfer for ANY reason- including if he doesn't like your fucking haircut- I tried to be diplomatic.

"His military ID is all he needs- and ATF does not require that you (illegally) make a copy. His DL is state issued, and a legal photo ID- even though he ONLY needs his military ID for compliance. These are YOUR requirements- and you can make any fucking rules you want- but you should have disclosed to him that your requirements for doing a transfer, exceed those which are legally required".

The dickhead manager pulled out a 4473 and gave me some bullshit about the forms changing (which they just did), but I pointed to the ID requirements and asked him "What's changed? Says in black and white that military ID is acceptable!" At which point he starts hemming and hawing with bullshit...

What's ironic is that he'd gone with some buddies to a NASCAR race in a neighboring state before flying home, stopped in a Bass Pro Shops and they happened to have milsurps on the rack (go figure..) and bought a nice Swedish Mauser using the same ID's that Shoot Straight refused to accept.

Figured I wasn't getting anywhere with him, and left to cool off. After the 20 minute drive home to cool down, I called back.
"Listen, I know you guys can do whatever the fuck you want, so screaming and yelling isn't going to be productive. This is how you treat those who serve our country? Are you kidding me? Can I speak with ownership?"

"Nope. It's our policy, and they won't make an exception".

So I call another FFL closer to me, less than 10 miles from Shoot Straight. Explained the sitch. "Yeah, no problem. I'll accept that ID".
Called Shoot Straight back. "It'll be $50 PLUS the shipping costs to send it to the other FFL".

No "Sorry we didn't disclose", No "Sorry about the inconvenience- we'll waive our $50 fee but he'll need to pay just the actual shipping costs".

FUCK SHOOT STRAIGHT- ALL THEIR FLORIDA LOCATIONS. I used to frequent their Tampa range on occasion- I won't set foot in their stores forevermore if this is how they treat our military.

Rant over. Act accordingly.

I don't see this happening but in the times we are in? Possible sale of LC

Eotech help.

Because eotech won't answer their telephones or won't hire more people to do so, I need a source for a battery compartment and contact replacement kit for a Oct 2008 hws 558.

I have over a hour with 3 separate calls waiting for someone to pick up the line.

I didn't pay 800 dolla for this kind of shitty customer service.

How to "lock" Nightforce 1-8 diopter?

I know how to mechanically do this...twist the ring against the occular. However, it always seems to come un-done/loose as I shoot throughout the day---even short range sessions---even when I hit it with my purse. I know the ATACR is an issued optic...how is this being addressed, typically, by those it is issued to? Is there "a common way"? I've seen everything from electrical tape on Kyle Defoor's to being told to use a small drop of VC3 or loctite.

Firearms Impact 787 BA

Split rail 787 Action with magnum bolt
-20 moa split rail
-Proof 22” 1/8t 7PRC prefit with TBAC SR brake
-160 rounds of hendershot ammo (180 Berger hybrids in ADG brass) and approximately 140 once fired pieces of ADG brass.
*stock/bipod/other components not mentioned are not included*

Approximately 250ish rounds of 7prc on the barrel/action.

-$2000 gets the lot. FTF in western WA or shipping can be discussed (ffl-ffl, etc). Not splitting action/barrel/ammo unless there’s buyers for each.

Going back to a full rail action and been enjoying shooting heavy 30s lately. Someone can enjoy a solid lightweight hunting barreled action.
