Brass cartridge cases are yours Good ?

Yes that's the Big question . Are Your brass cases really as good as You think they are ?. Have You measured them and exactly HOW are YOU measuring yours ?.

I have a precision ground Granite Base or surface plates . Mine happens to be roughly 18"X18"X8" polished Black/Blue Granite . Have #4 AAA Certified Lab Grade plates . I came by mine in early 80's ,as there was a Scientific Quarry company in SoCal which Cut slabbed Raw granite. They had mile long Diamond wire saw and precisely Cut and Ground ,polished enormous slabs of granite . Also have a 2" X 88" ground straight edge , a piece given too Me by them for certifying or verifying levels .
They made various " Instrument Tables " of varying lengths and thickness . I just happened by one day when they were finishing a 12 Ft. x 38" X 8" table and scored the End cuts for Peanuts for what costs are now .

So I decided to Stand up some cases and using My Starrett Machinist precision ground level and square ,after using the Master level on the Base to insure level . SURPRISE !.

I'm resorting Many cases ,as I was surprised after taking some measurements . Oh case mouth neck thicknesses are Spot on using Ball Mic but Cases weren't all Plumb !!!.

FYi : That included Used ,New and even the Beloved L brand of Brass . So Just saying , ARE YOU SURE ? . I thought I was and then learned the truth .

As you were ,Carry on .

Newbie Asks: Why do you say the Production (Rifle) Division is a Joke?

As you may know, I'll be participating in my first match (Gadsden) on Feb 24th. Thanks to all of you who have given me plenty of advice this week, I really appreciate it!

I'll be "dancing with the girl that brought me there"...in that I'll be shooting my GAP Impact (hunting) rifle in 6.5 PRC. It's heavy, does the job, and I can't afford another cool looking tactical rifle with every possible rail and attachment right now.

I've read a few threads where the Production rifle Division is seen as a joke, but I don't understand why. Is it just that the higher-end rifles and optics are that much more precise than using a sub-$3,000 and sub-$2,500 scope? After I first read the rules it seemed to me that it would be more of a challenge to use production equipment - as if to level the playing field for the match.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter. Thanks!

DEBT

Millennials increasingly lean on credit

Still, consumers often turn to credit cards, in part because they are more accessible than other types of loans.
Overall, an additional 20.1 million new credit accounts were opened in the fourth quarter of 2023, boosted in part by subprime borrowers looking for additional liquidity, according to Wise. Subprime generally refers to those with a credit score of 600 or below, according to TransUnion.
Many people in this group are millennials, he said, who are burdened by high levels of student loan debt and the housing affordability crisis.
“If you can’t afford to buy and your rent keeps going up, that’s not a very happy set of circumstances,” Wise said.

Area 419 Zero Press

Good afternoon gents! I ordered the Zero press, and I was wondering what does the press come with, and what will i need extra to start reloading on this press. I've had a Dillon xl650, and I'm not new to reloading, but I've been trying to find what else from the company i would need to get this press up and running. I bought dies and all the basic components, but I'm new to this press, and I'm not sure what else to order. Dillon has drop downs when ordering, plus suggestions, while this press acts like its hiding a secret, lol. I tried contacting the company but got no response. So, if anyone has this press, feel free to chime in it will be much appreciated.

SOLD NEW PRICE As of 24 Feb 2024: Stuteville Precision / Impact 737 6.5 Creedmoor Rifle with Manners T4A Stock + Extras

PRICE DROP (as of 24 February 2024): $3500 shipped to your FFL

Up for sale is one of my rifle builds - see below list of all components that went into it and attached photos. NOTE: The scope and rings on the rifle are NOT INCLUDED in this sale.

I put this rig together for competing in PRS and teaching courses, but never used it for either. It has only 20 rounds on the barrel from an initial zeroing session and shot sub ½ MOA with Hornady 140 grain ELD-Match. The rifle has sat in my gun safe for the last 2 years and as such, everything with it is in like new/excellent condition.

The total original retail cost of this complete turn-key build was over $5000 (cost of items, shipping, taxes, etc.). I'm letting it go for $3500 shipped to your FFL, saving you cash and all the waiting that you would have to endure when it comes to lengthy lead times from Impact Precision, Manners, etc.

PayPal Friends & Family is preferred for payment to avoid fees on my end. If you want to use traditional PayPal, you'll have to cover all transaction fees (+3%). I’ll also accept cash during a face-to-face deal if you live near Raleigh, NC.

Feel free to PM me with any questions/requests for additional photos you might have.

Thanks for checking out my listing and have a good one! S/F!

The Bandit. He stole our hearts

I’ve always been the kind of fellow who believe animals have their place. Dogs are for guarding and hunting, cats are keeping the vermin down, Horses were to make the tie, preferably win their class at horse shows to bring our little training stable interest and there fore business, Cows, Pigs, self explanatory, though we did raise a registered calf or two for sale. But then there was Bandit.

Bandit came into our life on the side of the road on August 19, 2022. He was starving, parasite invested, and we were even worried he might not make it though the weekend. But he did. And we spent a fortune on that little rescue cat. He grew into the most playful but loving animal. A one in a million cat.

He stole our hearts.

Today he was playful as ever, loving his treats, curling up to Brenda, and he was playing with my shoes…….

A hour later he crawled up to me, crying. We drove an hour to get to an emergency vet. A blood clot destroyed his nerves and killed his rear legs, Nothing could be done.

I don’t get worked up over animals. They have their purpose, but Bandit, he was different.

BEWARE OF PROOF PREFITS

PSA FOR PROOF PREFIT BARRELS!!

I recommend to everyone after this fiasco to look other places for barrels. I have 2 barrels from them previously that shoot really good. But this 3rd barrel is only capable of 1.5 MOA and Proof has left us with a $900 piece of junk. After testing all shelf ammo we could find for this barrel and it not being better than a 1.5 we sent it in to proof. We received a call a few weeks later stating that it shot .5” with the exact ammo we told them it would not shoot and would not provide pictures. Being that this chambering has been discontinued by them I figured they were giving us the run around so they do not have stop their process to bring out old reamers.

We then took this barrel to a custom ammo manufacturer in our state to see if he could go to bat for us. Immediately he had his doubts as he has had many problems with them in the last few years. He then measured out the chamber and found that there was over .300” of jump. (photos below). He sent this info to proof and requested a replacement and they stated that those chamber specs are not right and they would warranty it.

We heard from proof 2 days ago now and they sent us pictures of a mold they took of the chamber and measured it out stating their was only .06” jump and met SAAMI spec and would not be replacing the barrel. They could not provide us with which bullets they were using to spec the chamber and did not provide much information at all.

So now we are stuck with a $900 barrel that shoots like shit.

After talking with this custom ammo manufacturer, he stated this has been very typical of proof the last 3 years and has had to send in over 50 barrels to the warranty department due to not shooting and chamber dimensions and currently has 4 of them he is trying to make a load for because they won’t shoot good. The size of groups for each one were provided, 1.8, 2.2, 2.5, and 3 MOA.

I will no longer be buying proof barrels and hope to steer people away from their prefits so they don’t waste that kind of money on them either.

Firearms SOLD FN SPR 1st Gen For Sale

Hey all,
$1200 shipped to your FFL in continental US. This is a low use rifle that I threaded, upgraded the jewel trigger set to 2.5 pounds. It comes with the original Mauser style trigger to switch to if desired… this is a pre-64 action with Mauser style trigger. It comes with the original HS Precision Marksman-pattern stock, heavy 26-inch barrel with one 5 round magazine and currently in a McMillan a4 with area 419 arca rail installed with a (1) 5 round and (1) 10 round fn proprietary box magazine. It comes with the Area 419 sidewinder magnum brake. The rifle has only had 300 rounds through it… a safe queen and only re-finished because the original first gen rifle receiver was blued and over time turned red and I was concerned about protection against the elements with the loss of original blued color… all other parts parkerized. This rifle is a tack driver that I have used for track testing my various scopes. Needs to find a new home due to back surgery in near future… it is a great rifle. If you have any questions please feel free to pm me. This is a really cool pre-64 rifle made in the USA and has the chrome lined 26 inch barrel. Note scope not included. The rifle is confirmed first gen based on time of purchase and serial number.

NYC migrant crime ring.

In recent a months a wave of migrant crime has washed over our city, but by no means are the individuals committing these crimes representing the vast number of people coming to New York to build a better life," NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban said.

My ass Edward.

If these fuckers had not been allowed to cross our border, this would not be happening.
A big thank you to the Biden administration.

Firearms Three Winchester Model 70 Heavy Varmint .308 package

I have 3 Winchester Model 70 Heavy Varmint .308 rifles. All have Burris Signature 6x24 scopes, and Kowa spotting scope w/25xr eyepiece. One has a Harris bipod. One has a Timney trigger. All are in excellent condition with less than 600 rds thru them. In fact one probably has less than 200 rds. All have hard cases. All have been gently used…These will put 5 168 gr matchkings in a quarter at 200 yds all day long. I am selling these great rifles because my brother is legally blind now, his wife died a yr ago which is why her rifle is for sale and I have Parkinson’s bad enough to stop precision shooting. We are the original owners. We want to find good homes for these fine rifles. We are asking $1800 each. If you have any questions or need more info, please contact me here. I live in Georgia. Thanks for your consideration. Steven

The target shown below was at 100 yds. I hadn’t shot this rifle in 12yrs.
