I have an Area 419 hellfire match break I need to install. After reading some threads It seems like most folks dont use any thread locker on breaks but they also frequently swap the break with a direct thread silencer. I guess it would also be easier to remove for cleaning with no thread locker involved. Still trying to learn the nuances of building a long range precision bolt gun.

Just tried my first batch of brass with my induction heater and looking for opinions. First off the brass hasn’t been cleaned so that’s why the neck is black but do you guys see anything that looks like I over annealed them? I attempted to stop the instant I saw glowing. I sacrificed a few pieces doing the plier test but can’t tell any difference. Just looking for opinions for safety sake because I really like the gun im shooting them through

Decided to do my first bolt rifle build since I had some parts available. I had a 308 shelin barrel and the stock from my bergara HMR lying around. Bought the solus action and a Triggertech trigger. I had to do some shaving of the stock in two areas. One for the bolt release and one on the inside for clearance because of the trigger hanger.

Unfortunately the solus barrel nut is either messed up or they have a major design flaw that won't allow me to screw the nut down the barrel far enough to mount. Hopefully this new nut will work. If not, looks like I'm going to be delayed a little bit more.

I recently acquired a T3 in .270 WIN and quickly got the bug, purchasing accessories before fully considering how I would use the rifle. I opted for a Gen 2 LSS XL chassis and SCS buttstock, along with a premier grip and full-length Arca rail. The scope I chose weighed in at 23 oz, which I felt was reasonable. In the end, I ended up with a non-folding rifle that weighed 11 lbs plus. It shot like a dream, and for a while, I was satisfied with it.

However, during a recent trip to Wyoming, I used a Kifaru gun bearer, and after walking 23 miles, my perspective changed. I realized I needed to rethink my setup and began rebuilding with weight in mind. I decided on an Element 4.0 mg chassis and a carbon buttstock with a folding mechanism. When everything is said and done, should be right at 8.5#. I aimed for a more manageable overall weight while still maintaining performance and reasonable recoil. At this point I feel like Im chasing this elusive sub 8# scoped rifle. When is enough enough? I feel like the cost to reduce weight is started to be prohibitive. Looking for overall thoughts and suggestions...

I’ve searched and looked on here so I tried to do due diligence if this is posted a lot. I am currently building my house, in the basement I’m doing a vault room with concrete and metal cased concrete for the roof. The room is 12.5 x 10.5. The entrance will be in a hall way the room in the other side will be a movie theatre type. What re cheap effective ways to hide the vault door?
