Seating force

Reloading 1x fired federal 223 brass.

My process:
Deprimed
Tumbled
Annealed
Sized
Mandreled
Tumble
Trim/deburr/chamfer

I’m seating 77smks, and the amount of force required to seat bullets varies from case to case. Some slide in super easy, some take some effort.

I am not brushing necks. Just leave residue carbon from tumbling .

Any ideas what is causing this? I’m annealing and using a mandrel. Is it just federal brass?

Accessories Manners EH1 New

Manners EH1 with M5 mini chassis for sale. This has the bedding block but still requires M5 bottom metal. Perfect if you want the block but prefer BDL bottom metal for hunting. Had an action in it but never fired.

Short Action Remington 700 inlet. I don't know the barrel contour but I have a pile of barrels handy and can test for you. It will definitely take a Remington Sendero contour and probably much larger.

Looking for $675 Shipped.

Firearms Price drop---PVA 223 rifle for sale, bad neck, my loss your gain.

I built this rifle to get into competition but soon realized that was a futile plan because

1-my neck is so fucked up I just cant shoot prone
2-I dont reload and no matter how good the shooter or rifle, hand loads will win out

-PVA 26" stainless M 24 barrell in 223 Wylde, threaded. 5/8 by 24 with PVA APA Fat Bastard Gen II Brake
-Remington jeweled stainless action, trued by PVA
-Timney Hit trigger
-Magpul Hunter stock with magwell and one mag
-20 MOA EGW rail and front bipod rail.

Rifle has +/- 200 rounds of factory ammo. I slipped with the dremmel while enlarging the stock, scratched the side, but I'm not figuring that in the value as most will want to upgrade to a better chassis. The guy who runs the local range and I were hitting 12" steel easily at 1050 the max we have locally. Thats with 77 grain factory ammo. This thing would be scary accurate with hand loads but i just dont have the time to get into it. could easily be benchrest level.

I've got right at @2200 in it, asking $1800 OBRO TYFFL insured in the CONUS.

Rings and scope not included but could be negotiated for. Its the DNT TOR with Vortex high rings (I believe they're highs).

Not really looking for trades but one never knows if they dont ask. Silver or gold at spot is a partial option.

Optics WTS ZCO 527 MPCT1X

I have for sale a slightly used Zero Compromise Optic for sale. It is overall in great shape but has some slight anodize fading from the rings and a tiny mark on the elevation turret. I have probably fired less than 200 rounds of 6 dasher through it and it's an awesome scope but mainly use Tangents for matches and don't really have plans to use this.

It has the 10 mil NLE turret and the locking windage. Awesome scope and the glass is flawless.

Comes with the ranger wrap that was installed before mounting so under the wrap it is just like it came from the factory.

Has an option to come with a Hawkins scope mount in anodized green and 1.25" height. Or can come with a MPA 1.25" height, 0moa, 36mm mount.

-Scope price with no mount $3750
-With Hawkins mount $3950
-With MPA mount $3900

Looking to sell or could consider a trade for a tangent theta.

PayPal payment friends/family please.

Firearms Barrett MK22 Complete kit Clone correct (3 cal kit w/ NF 7-35 ATACR + extras)

As the title states I have a Barrett MK22 with the full deployment kit, all "clone correct". Kit was manufacturered prior to the aquisition of Barret by NIOA, FWIW. This is the complete kit with the clone correct limited release NF 7-35x56 ATACR (T3 reticle) and the complete kit with all 3 calibers (308, 300NM, and 338NM) as well all the accessories (drag bag, torque limiters, mag, etc). Added to the kit is a CF 6.5 Creedmoor Proof research barrel kit, A419 Arca Rail for MK22, B&T Atlas with Arca mount. Wont sell until the rifle and base kit is sold. Prices:
-"Kitchen sink" everything you see including Maztech 15k LRF $26k
-Complete kit with NF scope $21k
-Complete kit including Proof 6.5 creedmore caliber kit $16k
-Complete kit as originally purchase (w/ 3 calibers, pelican and parts within) $14,500

Round counts: 308win (200rds, 6.5 Credd (300 rds), 300NM (120 rds), 338NM (new unfired). Rifles a shooter, shot out to a mile plus at colemans creek, barrels have been confirmed to be repeatable return to zero. Recently competed in a War rifles PRS match with rifle, 6.5 creed kit is easily sub .5 moa 5rd groups.

No trades except for high end night vision/thermal units (if it didnt cost over 10k, its probably not what I am looking for). Please dont offer anything else, except for maybe rolexs, but trades have to be in my favor. Fairly high value item easiet forms of payment will probably be either bank wire and or check, but will accept/accomendate other forms of payment, but will only ship once payment clears.

Rifle Scopes Tips to "Safely" Reset NightForce Zero Stop?

Morning! A few weeks ago I shot a match, and had a ~0.2-0.3 shift in my zero when I verified it at the start of the match. I corrected it, and went to reset my zero stop prior to the start of the first stage.

I gave 0 thought to holding that turret still, and when I turned the first screw to back it out I spun the dial and completely lost my zero. Hindsight is 20-20, and holding my thumb on it as I loosened the screws is a quick and easy fix solution. However the damage was done and I had to completely re-zero the elevation.

I was curious - are there any redundancies or tricks you use to protect against this, or to more quickly recover in an instance this happens?

Sheepdog Warrior (Upstate NY)

Hey folks, i saw a thread for SDW from like 6 years ago, but wanted to ask about some updated information from members here.

I live in New England and SDW is about a 3.5 hour drive for me. So i need to plan my visit out somewhat carefully and i had a couple of questions...

1. Do you need a LRF there, or are all targets at known (accurate) distances?
2. I'll be going as a visitor renting for like 3-4 hours, once you are booked, you can't be bumped for a competition scheduled last minute or anything like that?
3. Is there anything else i should know before booking and making the trek out there?

My current plan is to hit this place on like a Friday, then drive up to longrangeshots.com on the Saturday to work in some more skills at slightly further than 1000yds at longrangeshots.com

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

SOLD Zeiss LRP S3 6-36x56 MIL

Probably regret this, but selling my Zeiss 6-36 MIl scope. My son ran it for one match, but he prefers his Gen III Razor. Comes with sunshade, bikini covers, manuals, and IDTS turret tape. Like new except for one tiny mark on the bell that I tried to capture in the pic. Very small and insignificant but I always over scrutinize the items that I am selling.

$1700 shipped via PayPal F&F, Venmo, or Zelle.

Will ship to you Thursday 8/21 when I return from work travel.

Maggie’s VPN- if you have one, which did you select?

I know VPN are a huge money maker.

Easy to set up - monthly revenue stream

Many log and sell your data.

Many who claim they don't track you, have provided data under subpoenas- so they obviously track

Nord and surfshark have the same owners

ExpressVPN - owned by Kape Tech - previously distributed malware

Hola VPN uses your network to route others traffic. So illegal stuff can be routed via your network.

Maybe Proton's VPN is better???

Do you trust a VPN with your data more than your ISP?
