Firearms WTS/WTT-H&R M1 Garand-Expert Grade-SOLD

Located in Fairhope, Alabama
$1500 shipped

Comes with case, certificate, protective sock etc.

Fired 189 rounds on this beauty.

It is sure fun to shoot but I just don't use it. I don't have safe queens and would rather someone else had it and enjoyed it.

It went out to 400 yards accurately with my old eyes.

Send me a trade that would work as well. A factory 16" barreled AR15 would be of interest.

15.1" Lilja Recce Barrel

Working on a NSW Recce build and just got the barrel I ordered from Lilja. I ordered their 15.1" M4 Recce profile barrel in .223 Wylde. Shipping was lightning fast but king of disappointed when I opened the package. The barrel itself looks to be very nice but the M4 extension is one of the roughest I've ever seen.

- The M4 feed ramps aren’t centered (see the blue circles on the pic)
- There is material behind the lugs still (see red arrows)
- The chamfer around the lugs is off center
- Generally poor machining, seems unfinished, especially around the feed ramps. (see the green circles)

I reached out to Lilja and they pretty much acknowledged the problems and said that they switched to new style of machining this spring and that I had one of the old M4 extensions. They said go ahead and install it and see if you have any issues...that just doesn't sit well with me. For a $575 barrel, one should expect better. I asked to return the barrel and have a newer M4 extension installed on it, still waiting to hear back.

Has anyone else had any issues with Lilja barrels, specifically the M4 extension? If they are unwilling to resolve the issue, I will be looking into other options. Any recommendations out there? I know Craddock has a few options and a great reputation.

GAP Non Typical

Use case: Mammoth primary focus and PRS as a secondary training goal.

I’m looking at some custom 700s. There are some AIs floating around in 6.5 as well. Also the traditional Impact + Chassis + other stuff for the pretty standard 2500$~ DIY rifle.

Regarding the Non Typical, I know it’s primarily a hunting setup, but I’m also not wanting to hump a 20 pound Mk22 around for three days if I can help it. Is the typical heavy sporter/Sendero ish contour going to last at all under a 6.5 PRC load? I’ve really only shot 308 and 556 traditionally so this is (besides a 6.5 Creed) my first experience in to barrel burner rounds. I love the BC and everything of the round, just need someone to tell me an M24 contour isn’t necessary to go miss a bunch with a nice rifle.

TLDR Gap has some nice ready to ships. How heavy and are the lighter barrels ok?

Hunting scope-simple reticle

Needing some advise from the hide. Looking for a scope to but on a 308 hunting build.

I’d like a MOA scope with illuminated reticle, simple reticle-no Christmas trees, FFP unless it’s a standard duplex reticle, 44-50mm objective-wanting good light transmission for low light.

I was getting ready to pull the trigger on a vortex, razor HD LHT until I looked at the reticle and it’s just way too busy for me. Now I found some VX5 but wanted to know what other options are before pulling the trigger.

Remington 40-XB/R; 7.62 NATO Clip Slotted Repeater

Good morning all. Here is a rifle that I have owned for a few years. 1967 manufacture Remington 40-XB/R in 7.62 NATO, clip slotted repeater. I am the third owner, with the gentleman I bought it from having it since the early 90s, purchased from the original owner (man was in his 90's in the early 1990's and liquidating his collection), who fired it very little, with all the competition accesories the man had purchased for use with the rifle. I substituted the "original" Unertl 14x with a 20x 2" Unertl target telescope. The man I bought it from is a personal friend who is very trustworthy, and he stated he bought it with the whole "kit", put RIG grease in the bore, and put it away, never fired it. The original owner gave him a box of fired brass for the last time the rifle had been fired, with a Sierra load data decal dated to 1968. What a time capsule! For what I have seen, 40-X clip slotted repeaters in 7.62x51 are fairly rare. Checked the barrel twist and it came out to be 1:12 twist, indicating it being a Palma rifle. Pictured with accesories that include a set of Redfield International Match front and rear sights, with inserts. Shooting jacket is from my own collection.

communist dictators?

trying to figure out how all the NWO communist (actually a form of fascism) dictators think they are gonna get paid off. gonna have to extract way more from their populations than currently. just not there eg venezuela, ukraine, ireland. and, esp, since gates and his buds want to kill about 2/3 of the earths pop. there just won't be enough $ or productivity left to pay everyone off. AI gonna save them? i'm just not getting the likelihood of rewards in their actions-UK,US,scandinavia,poland,all of europe, africa,a lot of asia. seems the only places with rational leaders are el salvador, argentina, hungry, maybe russia. just don't see how the fascists figure to survive and gain.

Barrel moved while trying to index muzzle break

So I noticed the muzzle break on my Ruger RPR 6.5CM was not as level as it should be. As I tried to get it loosen up with a bar and a hella lot of force the barrel and muzzle break rotated clockwise a little, actually to where the muzzle break is now level. It was like 2 and 8 and now its 3 and 9. Guy at the range I was talking about was concerned about how the nut might be loose. Do I need to get in there? Barrel is tight and I can't move it by hand and firing is fine so far. I ordered a armorers wrench and all the go no go gauges anyway but just wanted to see what ya'll think.

Supporter Status & Selling Items

Interested in doing a 1 month supporter subscription so I can post up a few small items I have for sale. When I go to the subscriptions page, there is no option for me to sign up/pay. The "purchased" tab is greyed out. I also read that I must have a complete profile, but I don't see anywhere where I can add in any additional information other than what I currently have in there.

Appreciate any direction on this, thanks!
