This is a High Grade Browning model 1886 Carbine, a reproduction of the original Winchester which was designed by John Browning. This modern reproduction has the same action and was produced as a limited edition with only 3,000 High Grade rifles. I have a razor Gen 3 6-36x I picked up in a trade.

It comes with original packaging, caps, throw lever etc. it also comes with the writable turret tape and some ranger wrap in Multicam Arid.

It was sent to vortex to have them service it and delete the locking mechanism on the elevation turret. It is stellar and functions the same just doesn’t lock. Which is nice so the turret markings are closer to the indicator.

Assuming everything is done properly:

(torqued properly, using correct action wrench, using a barrel vice, not cross threading or anything else you can think of)

Is there any negative impacts on actions from “frequent” barrel changes? Say one swap every month.

I have 2 actions (solus and origin) and as much as I wouldn’t mind a 3rd that money could always go to other projects.

I have 1800 22cal 75 gr eldms.
There's a couple of different lot numbers but they're broken out in the pictures.

Like new, had an action in it but never taken to the range. Has full weight kit including manners extended weight. Extra butt pad weight and spacer kit, adjustment knobs. Weight 8lbs 4oz, bipod not included.

I got a big heavy rock river lar-8 308. I think I'll do a DMR style setup to shoot longer ranges with my buddy. I'm thinking of what to do with the scope on this thing. I like the idea of a 5-25 but they get pretty darn heavy. It's already a tank of a gun so maybe who cares? I also like a 4-20. Pretty close in power but about 12 oz lighter. Both prob also need an offset Red dot so more weight but lots of capability. A 3-18 is lighter still and wouldn't need a red dot but l feel like I'd be wanting more magnification at some point. Not sure but a 3-18 seems maybe a better choice for a 556 vs a 308.

What do you guys think?

Gathering data on my 18" AR. 223 wylde, Leupold 3.5-10, Frontier 75gr. ammunition.

Everything's great at 100, 200, 300, and 400. Even turned in a 2.5 inch 3 shot group at 400.

However, at 500, the wheels fall off. The group opens up to 7 or 8 inches and is offset about 1.5moa to the right. i should ad that I'm not dialing, simply holding for elevation and windage using the reticle (dots or hashes every 2 moa - lepould ts 32 moa or something like that is the name of the reticle.)

While the ammunition is top tier, pretty sure that's not it.
Not dialing on the scope so tracking shouldn't be it.
Scope's mounted in a LaRue mount, properly torqued.
Adjusted parallax at each distance.
Didn't feel like fundamentals were off.

It has to be me, otherwise I feel like I'd see a decline in performance before "falling apart" between 400 and 500. Please give me a list of things to check tomorrow.

Just found out there are some local 22 matches near me. I’ve always wanted to get in on them, but nothing was close. So until now I have held off purchasing a precision style 22. For those that recently have started, I’m curious if you regret the investment of going straight to a vudoo/rimx or if something like a b14r BA or a CZ457 would serve me well to get off the ground and see if I like it? Just interested in picking brains.
