Why So Many Young Americans Fall for Socialism.

In my mind, it's because their parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents also trusted the State. Why would anyone be surprised when, after multiple generations of State education, you end up with a legion of young people who idolize the State and its (economic) solutions? It's not just Leftists, most Americans today (even "conservatives") have socialist sympathies.

Nationalize this, regulate that, protect "public land", etc...
Why are young people screwed up, specifically, when they take this mindset to its logical conclusion and apply it to economics?
Im not disagreeing but clarify re: the public land. If youre speking of our National Parks and Forests, those I support 100%. The national forests are great places to shoot and hunt. They are one of our great national treasures. What I fear, if the land was returned to the states control, it wouldnt be long before we'd see oil rigs in the middle of Yellowstone. I wouldnt mind so much seeing some of the timber resources being harvested carefully, their self renewing, but I do hate seeing them sold to forigeners for peanuts.

Nah, you’ll be fine. The bugs are a bit bigger than up north but everything else is overhyped

I wish I had a winning lottery ticket for this

Dan Bongino leaving the FBI already???

Exactly why the board should be reset.
I'm not happy with the prospects of such a false destiny.

So..... don't you think we would collectively be better off in the long run if we just went ahead and ripped that Band-Aid off?

Does being soft, unable to cope and unwilling to comprehend a harsh reality justify living in the virtual lie that cradles us?

Could it not be argued that if our civilization in the free world has devolved to that level of snowflake, at least a few should decide not to ride that train into the abyss?
If the cleansing would actually be done, absolutely I think it would make the world a better place for everyone left.
Like bringing up legitimate safety problems at work after we all talk it out before the meeting. I stand up and talk. One mean old coworker with liver cirrhosis poorly articulates that he agrees. Everyone else refuses to even look up, let alone repeat what they said outside 10 minutes ago. Young idealists and the very old will still charge the figurative machine gun nests, but being left “left out in the bush by the team” a few times really cuts into a guy’s hero complex.

Cop stopped thes tow, no Id's acting weird so he tells them to exit the vehicle. They rool the windows up and sa he circles the car they take off. What would you do? I'd give the command about 3 times and if drove towards me I'd plug his ass. This cop was way to tolerant could easily have cost him his life.

Why So Many Young Americans Fall for Socialism.

Well, at least you are taking some ownership.

Anyone under the age of fifty or so was fed such a pile of shit regarding economics that it’s no wonder any of us want anything to do with Ronald Reagan conservatism or economics. The invisible hand of the market is going to save us? All we have seen is the visible hand of greed making sure we are smothered in education debt, held out of the market, prevented from accessing healthcare, emburdened with the specter of $50 trillion in national debt, held responsible for the environmental mistakes of our greedy forebears….all to meet the expectations of a generation of people who stopped reinvesting in the nation because anything other than personal wealth accumulation was “socialism”.

WHY THE FUCK WOULD ANYONE BELIEVE THAT AMERICAN CAPITALISM WAS AN ANSWER?

Shitty jobs, shitty roads, shitty cities, shitty healthcare, shitty air quality, shitty power bills, shitty public transportation, shitty drug policies, shitty incarceration rates, shitty presidents, shitty schools, shitty fiscal policy, shitty….everything that matters in the day to day lives of people. We cling to “freedom” as if it paid the bills. We hang our hats on “liberty” but see that for far too long the liberty most enjoyed was the right of the wealthy to avoid doing ANYTHING, including paying taxes, that might have lifted society as a whole….because, you, know, socialism.

We don’t have capitalism in this country…and we have an increasingly large group of our population who understand that and are willing to explore alternatives that offer a chance to forcibly push the immense wealth of our economy out of the hands of the oligarchy. The vast majority of Amazon employees can’t afford an overseas vacation. Not because Jeff Bezos is a philanthropist who has set up endowments to fund education at the finest universities. Not so that Bezos can create a network of public health clinics in Washington state. Not because Bezos is buying up huge swaths of land to create publicly owned National wildlands, managed for the common good. Not because Bezos is developing high speed rail service, or funding mental health care initiatives or doing literally anything other than gathering wealth for Jeff Bezos. And renting Venice for his wedding.

So fuck whatever this is that boomers and republitards still insist on calling capitalism. Fuck working for $10 an hour. Fuck pharmaceutical overlords who create and profit from drug pandemics. Fuck living in slums because the local zoning board is only interested in high profit development. Fuck tax dodging clowns like Bezos and Musk and Trump and Zuckerberg and anyone named Koch or Walton. Fuck anyone who thinks we should sell public land to pay down boomer debt. Fuck waiting for market forces in a market that isn’t close to free.

And for fucks sake, stop pretending that whatever this economic system is offers the next generation freedom and liberty.
Yeah, I remember my first beer.

Vortex 1-10

one thing I am waiting on that might be "similar" would be something like the EoTech 3-9x32 with a red dot for close up work. Small, light, compact, and if they built a 3-10x32 or even a 4-12 compact with illumination, FFP and the right reticle (and good glass, I haven't read much about the glass on the 3-9x32 but since it is SFP I haven't looked that closely at it yet) this could be a very good option. Similar to an ACOG with RMR but with a touch more versatility to choose the magnification (say 3x to 10x) plus the RDS and have two options without much fiddling around.

Dan Bongino leaving the FBI already???

I agree in principle. The trouble is that I believe almost all of our “leaders” are guilty of legitimately terrible things.
Exactly why the board should be reset.

Having this become unavoidable common knowledge would collapse many otherwise functional individuals. 80% of the people I know would wilt under the knowledge we here carry every day, especially considering there is little we can do about it day to day. Most western people have no tools to live under that level of truth.
So..... don't you think we would collectively be better off in the long run if we just went ahead and ripped that Band-Aid off?

Henry SPD Hush vs Marlin Dark 1895

Why can't someone do a new Winchester 71, with any of the straight wall cartridges?

A lever rifle or carbine shooting 45-70, 450 or 500 Alaskan has a purpose.
I have thought of looking for another 71 just to do a conversion to 500 Alaskan but I don't really shoot my 348 much either, so I put it on the back burner.

and as mentioned, I think a 500S&W lever gun would be fun. Big Horn Armory is doing some cool stuff. Maybe with the SBR and NFA tax going away, a sub 16" 500 lever gun with a nice can or integral isn't so far fetched any more.. :)

Vortex 1-10

I was and am still a fan of the G2 Razor. It has good glass and that big honkin view through the eye piece just wows you. So much so that many came to over look the short comings.

IMHO, this for the price is the reason the Gen 2 is still relevant. Maybe only Kahles and SAI 1-6's are in the conversation of eye box and FOV and only the Vortex and Kahles have that "edges disappear" akin to a red dot. 100% why my close-quarters setup now has a Kahles Helia 1-5x24. I'd still bang with a Razor Gen 2 if I had to over a lot of stuff. And after having one, even if my life depended on my standing in QP General Purpose, the 1-10 Gen 3 would be about 5th at best on my list of optics I'd want to compete with.

For those that think the 1-10 is as good (or better) on the low end, run that bitch for a while and come back to the 1-6 and you'll notice the difference.

Night Vision Athlon Cronus ATS PRO 35CL Clip On.

When I started at the range yesterday I had 1/2 battery charge so I would guess between that and the time spent messing around last night it should get about 4 maybe 5 hours on a full charge, really depending on sleep mode/eco settings and how much ranging you do. I also have a DNT Hydra in 384 as a backup clip on option, it seems to be a good little unit so far but it's currently zeroed in weapon sight mode on my 5.56 SBR. I may try the Hydra as a clip on more when I get a QD mount or I might try a FTS mount for the hell of it lol
I’d be interested in the comparison. I have a hydra 635 but am thinking by the new year I’m gonna pick up one of the Athlon until i can save for the Nvision.
