They build special underpasses for the bear here so that they can cross the roads safely. Not kidding at all. I’m sure that there is a special classroom for black bears to attend so that they know to use the underpass…

The 308 Win is relatively easy on barrels, especially if you don't get it hot. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

I've explored many dead end rabbit holes before getting to the quick answer given on the Hide, but what I learned was priceless.

I've noticed in my years that light to moderate rain makes no difference in movement.

Heavy rain, higher winds, and thunder will put them into shelter...BUT, as soon as the weather passes they come out with a vengeance as they're now even more hungry.

I've killed a lot of pigs on the backside of thunderstorms.

Fig... you are correct. I turned down $2,500 for a mint with box early 90's Stainless 6" King Cobra in 2018.

Now I can't get close to that.

All I hear now is, "new ones are less money than your old one."

I think it's a buyers market at the moment.

Loved my 300RUM that I had built years ago. 215hybrids at 3110 easily. It was a 10twist so never tried 230's in it.However, after the barrel went I went with 300PRC.
Good brass for the RUM was always an issue, that has gotten better as now couple companies making it rather than being stuck with Remington. I'm at times still tempted to do another one.

It’s best to man up and let it go then to let the rage get the best of you. Nothing good comes from it.
Locally we had two guys road rage each other they pulled into a parking lot and they shot each other, both died. Let it go and enjoy another day I say!

The 308 Win is known for being able to withstand thousands of shots. The 168 gr at 2700 fps is a good combo.

As was mentioned, the rate of fire, meaning how hot you get the barrel , has a big effect.
