Angle shooting

As others have said, just use TBR in a range finder.
I've started using it over inputting into a ballistics calculator, it's considerably easier and has worked fine for long range rimfire.

You should use TBR for elevation holds, and line of sight distance for wind holds, but most of the time you can get away with just using the TBR value. Assuming your RF gives you both when your range a target if there's only a few yards difference then don't warry about it the difference.
If however you are shooting 1000yards+ (or 200yards for rimfire) and it's giving you a difference of 10-20yards, that's obviously going to have a much bigger effect, and you should worry about the actual wind value.

Trumps Big Gift

Take it and blame Boeing for being four years late with the new planes.
With AF-1 i doubt Boeing is sole problem , its a refit of mothballed airframes, with a shit load of custom made secret squirrel components and systems , so might the be usual culprits , typical for Pentagon procurement 4 star generals fucking around and changing specs all the time.

New Applied Ballistics® Quantum™ APP! - & It's Free!

Is there any features that the AB Quantum app is missing compared to a Kestrel 5700 AB?
If I use the app with a cheaper, non AB kestrel am I giving up anything compared to the 5700?

Maybe I should just take the plunge into a 5700, but I've always liked using a phone (larger screen = more info available at a glance and easier to input) so would like to just use AB Q if I'm not giving up any core/useful features.

Angle shooting

Yup LOS wind is very important to know for angle shots. Learned that early when shooting the Allegheny Sniper Challenge or ASC. Long shots with lots of wind and big angles in WV mountains and you had to mil every target. No ranges given and no LRF, but they weren’t as available back then. Don’t have a pic but they had one shot that was about 1300 yards and 25 degree downhill. You had to figure your LOS distance and then use the ACI or slope doper or mil dot master to get your corrected distance. It was a fun match and very challenging.
