CLP for Quick ar 10 cleaning

Lube, best I've used, thick and slick.

Thing is, so many products out there and peoples favorite lube, cleaner, potion, etc. is always "the best" Some get outright retarded over it, argue, etc. Just like religion and politics, to far either way and shit storms get started.

Most any lube and cleaner will work, some better than others. CLP is fine, most any brand does the job for a general purpose AR. Even though Lucas makes a CLP, I still prefer the lube above as the CLP is thin but never had an issue with it. Hoppe's is fine for general cleaning, follow with a good lube.

Easy button--CHAMBER BRUSH-hit the CHAMBER hard with Hoppes or CLP, dry it and dump some CLP or Oil on the BCG-it'll run for a very long time.

Two other "quick" or easy ways-get a glass jar, fill with either Ed's Red or odorless mineral spirits, 3 parts and one part acetone, stick the whole BCG in it, come back in the morning, take it apart, wipe clean and lube.
Want a volume, cheap and effective lube?-either straight up motor oil(Mobile 1 is great) or 50/50 Mobile 1/ATF.-lord knows what you are breathing when suppressed anyhow with whatever you use.

CONTENTS: Ed's Red Bore Cleaner
1 part Dexron II, IIe or III ATF, GM Spec. D-20265 or later.
1 part Kerosene - deodorized, K1
1 part Aliphatic Mineral Spirits, Fed. Spec. TT-T-2981F, CAS
#64741-49-9, or may substitute "Stoddard Solvent", CAS #8052-41-3, or
equivalent, (aka "Varsol")
1 part Acetone, CAS #67-64-1.

Reference your current method--does your gun function during the sessions you typically have? If so-clean that chamber, keep her wet and run it like a rented mule! When done shooting, squirt some CLP on the BCG, let it sit until you clean.

Barrel wear Vs velocity/weight/energy

Def not DOT. From what I was told mine was a Marine Corp Tow missile hauler. Bought it three years ago. I used to drive it once in a while. Then developed a battery issue (wouldn't hold a charge more than a few days. Then replaced both batteries with two new correct mil batteries and those lasted a year. Right now it has the cheapest walmart batteries I could get that kinda fit......those cheap pieces of crap have been holding a charge fine for over a yr and a half.

CHRONOGRAPH USE AND BASIC SAFETY

View attachment 8685932

I am under the impression that owning a chronograph is presently a basic requirement for handloading, given how affordable and readily available they are.

Is this a misconception of mine?
lol. . . it depends. ;)

A chronograph is good at telling you how well you're reloading your cases (like, how consistent they are). But, it's not definitive on what load works best in your particular gun, though consistency in cartridges helps a lot. A chronograph is not necessary for load development as it's the target that'll tell you when you have a good load. :giggle:

For ELR shooters, knowing what MV to input into their firing solution is a big deal.
