I was having an inspection on an HVAC system I installed for a customer. She was saying that they were going to add more insulation to the attic. The inspector told her that she needed to get a permit. I laughed out loud and told her that she didn't need to pay the government to save money on her electric bill. He tried to say that technically she really did. This city taxes rain water. They have to pay by the square foot of property for rain water run off into the storm drains. When he left I told her to insulate and ignore what he said. There's no licensing for insulation installers therefore no need for a permit.
