Finish/stain for reloading bench ?

Finished the bench in the process of putting coat #3 of poly on it. Figured i would share some pics. This was my first attempt at building a bench (anything with wood really lol)

My carpenter skills are terrible ,but the bench is sturdy and it's level so I'm happy with how it turned out.

That looks solid and functional, I'd be happy with that.

Rifle Scopes Lightest midrange hunting scopes

It's not 1995 anymore. You can do so much better than a shitty Leupold or a scope with a mil-dot reticle...

Get a Zeiss V4. They actually have adjustable elevation turrets and locking windage turrets, so you won't have to holdover. And with a 7mm RemMag, you won't have too much drop at 600 yards, depending on your load, so you don't need a ton of elevation adjustment, just a moderate amount.

I run the 6-24x50 versions on most of my hunting rifles...One of which is a 7mm RemMag, as well. Excellent scopes for the money.

23 ounces sounds heavy.

.22 BRA

So I wanted to leave some info on what I just went through with my 22bra. So my reamer is a .251 neck so requires turning. I started with alpha 6br brass and turned it down to 11 thou, then I sized it down to .22 caliber and fired it. Then after annealing and everything I get to sizing and sized it down and this was done with a sac bra die and .243 bushing and .220 expander mandrel. After the sizing the neck thickness was 11 thou at the mouth but gradually increasing to .12 thou towards the junction. So I turned them again thinking probably needs 2 fire formings anyways. So now same process after the 2nd firing and same result. I was scratching my head thinking I gotta turn these Everytime or what.. but I tried something I went down to a .241 bushing and boom all the way through to the junction is 11 thou. Moral of the story is make sure you are using a bushing that will squeeze it down far enough.. at least I figured it out before I got through the third firing lol
Thanks for the reminder to avoid neck turning. :p

I'm not chasing that extreme level of accuracy. My Alpha brass loaded measures .241* and from memory I believe Lapua was also .241*. I'll be sticking with .255 no-turn necks.

*.251 :)

Maggie’s Mower purchase

A buddy and have talked about buying a mower for our church .........a small church, maybe 15 acres ..........we have been using members mowers, but it would be nice to have one on site, and not have to depend on someone showing up with a mower.......They do have a tax exempt number we can use...........any suggestions on getting a "DEAL" would be appreciated.......looking for something like a 60" ZTR................Thank you........

Curtis Rimfire

Finally got this pea shooter together. Change plans a ton before final assembly and as everyone told me Curtis was in fact a pain in the ass to deal with. Once I actually got the action to David the barrel process and communication with him couldn’t have gone any smoother which was a relief

DI precision 25” barrel
ZCO 527 w/ area 419 mount
Mpa BA comp with integral weights and steel spigot

Balances pretty well just forward of the mag well. Missed getting it together for the class I took but should have it out to the range next week
