Not what l expected

Yeah, I’d say your results are as much a factor of the manufacture as the grain weight. Ammo inc and AAC aren’t exactly match loads.

Sample size of one here, but I’ve shot a few cases of Ammo Inc 60gr vmax and it’s consistently a great performer. This is the non-reman version. No idea about any other selections they make though.

Is the new "custom" dies worth the extra money?

I'm curious as to what out-of-spec problems (specifically) you've had? I ask because I have one that is apparently not sizing the base enough. Thanks
The 300 prc wouldn’t size the base at all. Brass would stick in the chamber on the first loading. Got a whidden die and it fixed the issue. Both ackley dies need 14 thou ground off the bottom of the die to size at all, no shoulder bump, bushing wasn’t even reaching the neck. I had a 4th die in 7 saum that wasn’t out of spec but badly finished and was leaving scratches on the body of the brass. I smoothed it out with steel wool but was a factory new die.

Is the new "custom" dies worth the extra money?

For me right now it’s Redding. I’ve had 3 out of spec dies right out of the box. Lee load all was the press I started on. Rickety as shit but got the job done.

Buying a plane after retirement

Insurance for a new pilot with retractable gear is borderline impossible....if you could get it...it would break the bank. Like others said...start small. I bought a Cherokee 235 and learned in it. A bit more going on...high performance and a constant speed prop.....but if it fits, it ships. Hauls alot of weight. Good luck, it's a ride. Shes
a cruel mistress. She can sense any extra money in the budget......and poof....it's gone.

6gt ARC CDG and light primer strikes

21st is 50 for the die body and ring and 24 for a stainless mandrel. You don’t need the full suite of sizes in half thou increments. Just get one turning arbor per caliber, it’ll do nicely.
^ this

I have gotten the full-meal-deal set of expanders from 21st Century for a couple calibers (.224 and .30), because I have a lot of different guns, running different brass, with different applications and different requirements, in those particular calibers - plus I had some OT money burning a hole in my pocket. Definitely falls under 'nice to have', not 'need'. 6, and 6.5, I still have the plain-jane 'OG' Sinclair neck turner mandrels for those, and it works just fine.
