Theoretically, there should be a difference. When using a muzzle device, it eats up a lot of volume in the blast chamber. Pending cartridge, that could help or hurt.
In the case of 300bo, pistol calibers, and other low pressure things; the brake or FH could help, by taking up extra dead space (volume), and by making (faking) the 1st baffle closer to muzzle exit.
But something like a mk18, or 300wm, or other high pressure round, that large blast chamber can make a major difference, and is needed for proper expansion and performance.
This is not an "I'm right, you're wrong", because host weapons change everything. This is just my experience after personal testing, research, and development. And likely some meter results that I'll have to dig up as source material now.
